Hi Neeka, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Meet our CEO, Neeka Rooks. U’NEEK BEAUTY was developed a year after having to start my hair journey over due to being in a minor fire. My hair grew tremendously after a traumatic experience. I’m now helping women & men achieve their natural hair goals. All products are formulated and handmade with safe ingredients to provide our supporters with instant results! I’m in love with my beautiful journey. I’m showing you how it is possible to turn a negative situation into something positive. The power of God is in me.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I launched my business before covid and wasn’t prepared for the increase in online sales. During that time, before I hired a private label company, I was hands on and couldn’t no longer manage to make everything by hand. My ingredients, packaging, and bottles were all sold out due to COVID.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about U’Neek Beauty?
I launched my natural hair product company after leaving corporate America at 24 years old. I didn’t plan to have a natural hair product business. My plan was to go to law school after completing my Master’s degree but God had different plans for me. After losing my hair, I started formulating my own products to grow my hair back in my mother’s kitchen. I already had a large following on social media and everyone was shocked on how I grew my hair back so fast. What sets me apart from other brands is I formulated each product on my own, researched each organic ingredient before marketing, and I used all of my products. I want people to know that I changed a negative situation into something positive.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I don’t give up easily because I believe in God. Anytime I visualize my dreams and thoughts, I soon see it. You have to believe it to see it. That’s a really important quality during my journey.
