Today we’d like to introduce you to Pamela Baez.
Hi Pamela, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Pam, here! Entrepreneur, Mama, Wife, Leader, Lover. I call Atlanta, Georgia, home but was born in the Dominican Republic. My husband Thomas and I met in 2013 + married in July 2016. We gave life to Sebastian Daniel in August 2018 & Elijah on August 2020. Woof. 2 under 2. We have two other children (that you are sure to see plenty of)— Ava & Chet, they are our perfectly precious fur babies.
In January of 2019, I founded SOCIAL MAMAS TRIBE on both Facebook and Instagram as a way to connect with other mothers, provide support and education for women in the motherhood and lifestyle niche and—most importantly, make some lifelong friendships. A Facebook support community for motherhood niche entrepreneurs in the social marketing arena with members on a global scale. I then expanded the brand to Instagram and into a full-fledged consulting agency in hopes to continue bridging the gap between large brands and beginner entrepreneurs. In August of 2019, I finally took a leap of faith and launched my own business—helping women all over the world realize their passions on social platforms. High Heels Social Strategies is dedicated to the genuine personal and professional growth of the powerhouse women who runs this world.
Latina born and raised entrepreneur, I am a corporate leader turned business owner after over ten years in the sales & marketing industry. My corporate background includes sales, marketing, full-cycle recruiting, team building and bilingual leadership. My university experience comes from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA, with a Bachelors Degree in Communications and Marketing & Specialty Degrees in Public Relations & Advertising. During my tenure in corporate America, I served as a board member of Atlanta’s Hispanic Corporate Council, Latino Market Manager for New York Life & Managing Director for Moxy Financial Group and also served ongoing as an Atlanta Latino Leader for ALPHA, Inc. As a young mother and founder of High Heels Social Consulting, I thrive on pushing the limits and giving back.
Using my *passionate* voice for good, I support and consults small business owners, social media bloggers & influencers all over the United States & Internationally as an aide to their business ventures and overall growth. With the help of my amazing team, Social Mamas Tribe has grown to over 5K members in under a year and provides training, coaching, and professional development to small business owners, bloggers and influencers alike with a strong focus on brand partnerships, negotiation training and platform growth. My focus on women empowerment and maternal mental health has helped to catapult my business to new heights in a short period of time.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
A smooth road? Do you mean when everyone around me thought I was losing my ever loving mind for leaving a fancy 9-5 to “chase a dream”? I will never forget how shattered I felt with the poor leadership I experienced at my most recent corporate position. It was the epitome of insensitivity and moral irresponsibility in the industry. I quickly realized that motherhood changed the way I would be able to scale my career and where my new life was welcome (and where it wasn’t). I come from a long line of educators. My mother and sister are incredibly talented and Ph.D Educators. I always felt a bit like the family black sheep. The one who went the “entrepreneur” route and bounced around. I say there is nothing that kicks you in gear greater than knowing you are “different” or taking that unbeaten path. Knowing that eyes are always on your to fail or “go back to a normal job”. I would say those doubts have been both my biggest challenges and motivators.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about High Heels Social Consulting?
High Heels Social Consulting works directly with small business owners and content creators in guiding them in the scaling of their business and brand by creating a strong online presence for the gain of community, exposure, clients and overall growth.
I work directly with my clients on a 1:1 basis and create strategies, marketing plans and specific goals to make this growth happen. Spending some time working with me one-on-one helps my clients elevate their strategies to the next level. Perhaps they are starting from scratch, needing serious help with business development, launching a new website or product, creative content planning, or figuring out how to collaborate and negotiate with brands as a content creator in the online space of social marketing. Perhaps they are just looking for someone to keep them accountable for their goals and learn the best ways to keep their audience engaged. Creating a solid sales and creative strategy will ensure that success and career growth. When 1:1 consulting isn’t for my client or out of their scope of financial capabilities- they also have access to an entire library of resources that include fully published Manuals and E-courses that are available for self taught strategies and application. My corporate experience gives me a different perspective on the psychology of marketing and social decisions. I am able to take a deep dive into your business and target audience to find a niche that will become true engagers, clients or customers for your brand.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
The social marketing and online space continues to grow. It is as important as ever to work with a consultant that is going to ensure your strategies are up to date and shifting as the industry changes as well. What social platforms are available and which ones best suit YOUR brand and business. It seems like every time we turn around, there’s a new app, a new platform, something new we need to jump on, but how do we know exactly what features and social platforms are actually going to make a difference in our business. In terms of content creators 2021 is going to explode with the ability for brands to reach masses amounts of audience and massive exposure by working with content creators, bloggers and influencers as a popular way to gain ROI on their marketing efforts. As our world continues to implode around us, personal connection is what it’s all about and in a 2021 world– we do that through social connection.
