Hidden Gems: Meet Rashod Stanley of The Trenches Global

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rashod Stanley.

Rashod Stanley

Hi Rashod, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I started out selling my “The Trenches” brand clothing out the trunk and staying consistent.

Creativity cannot be stopped in a cage, nor can talent be stifled behind bars! These words were inspired after social media was introduced to “Rashod Armon Stanley,” AKA the artist “Atlanta Santana,” an Atlanta native who used his design skills to continue growing his fashion line (The Trenches) (The Trenches Sports) (The Trenches Global) and (ArmonRashod) while being incarcerated.

The 25-year-old inmate went viral after a video clip surfaced of him modeling clothing from his “The Trenches Sport” line, which he made using prison uniforms and materials.

In the video, he proudly showed off his work while explaining how he took prison gear and the material from a prison mat to create his ensemble.

“I would like to think I was the flyest guy in high school and on the streets,” Shod, who’s currently locked up on unarmed robbery charges, told The Shade Room.

At the age of 20, Rashod owned his very own store on Bankhead (a high-crime, low-income area) in Atlanta, Ga., before getting caught up with the wrong crowd. Now, he’s on a mission to share his story, create clothing, and inspire others not to go down the wrong path.

“I want people to know my story because Location Doesn’t Determine Destination. I want to inspire others to make something out of nothing and reach their full potential without making excuses,” Shod said. “I want to be a positive figure and public speaker to at-risk kids that’s following down the wrong path.”

“I want to make a name for myself as a fashion designer in the fashion community. I also want to start a nonprofit organization for low-income communities in Atlanta and eventually expand nationwide,” Shod said.

“The Trenches” is a versatile platform that was all about the individual lifestyle coming up in The Trenches.

The Trenches is meant to inspire people to find their own happiness without having to succumb to the norms of society. The mission isn’t just to supply High Fashion but to depict the overall lifestyle to the best of my ability.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. Some of the struggles I faced was going to the hole for making clothing in prison. It was considered “destruction of state property.” They gave me 8 months for this. The alone time gave me time to figure out what’s important and gave me the hunger to keep making clothing.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Trenches Global?
I would like the readers to know “The Trenches Global” is for the culture. It is more than a brand. It is a lifestyle brand. It’s also a platform to get the community involved in “The Trenches.” We specialize in high fashion. We are known for overcoming adversity and showing people anything is possible. I’m most proud of being in a position to inspire and motivate people that come from “The Trenches.” What set my brand apart from others is the fact that we really care about the people that shop with us.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
The main thing I would like to share with others is to stay focused and true to what you believe in. Everybody may not believe; you have to make them a believer.
