Hi Rhonda, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got my start in digital marketing, graphic design and social media management in 2009. I launched an independent lifestyle & culture blog- FlagrantCity.com while still attending the University at Buffalo, where I studied Sociology & Communication with a concentration in Journalism.
I didn’t know it at the time, but building my own blog website, maintaining the site, creating and scheduling content, coding and designing my own logo- I was a walking digital marketing agency all on my own. I was also 22 years old.
Who knew what the future held for me back then?
Fast forward to October 2021- I decided to launch CannaBae Digital Solutions to provide my digital & marketing expertise along with my creative graphic art design services!
It was a few weeks into launching this new business endeavor that I met Brooke Sanders of Amethyst Corner & The Bee Glow (an event planning company) while networking and promoting on Clubhouse.
She was looking for an Executive Marketing Director for an upcoming spiritual event here in the Marietta-area October 21-22nd, entitled Glow Expo: A Melanated Spiritual Exposition- and after seeing my work (I executed a logo design based on a sketch she doodled on the fly) I took up this position in January 2022 and we are excited to be in the final stages of planning!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Working full-time as Marketing Director for this event has been hectic but very enlightening- this is the longest marketing campaign I’ve worked on and the largest event I’ve been in charge of handling marketing & media for!
Our team is amazing and each person carries their corner well! Duffy is handling our entertainment and our event curator & founder Brooke is doing everything on the hospitality front from vendors to caterers to venues and everything in between.
