Today we’d like to introduce you to Rodshawnda Franklin.
Hi Rodshawnda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My healthcare journey began long before I became a nurse. I started my career as a Pharmacy Technician, where I gained an early appreciation for medication management, patient safety, and the importance of clear, compassionate communication. Working closely with both patients and pharmacists ignited my passion for direct patient care and inspired me to take the next step in my professional path.
That passion led me to Atlanta Technical College, where I pursued a degree in Registered Nursing (RN). This experience laid the foundation for my commitment to compassionate, evidence-based care. Nursing provided the opportunity to connect with patients on a personal level and reinforced my belief that healthcare should be both accessible and empowering.
I began my nursing career as an ER Registered Nurse at Emory Midtown Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, where I gained extensive experience across emergency, hospital, and community health settings. The fast-paced environment of emergency medicine taught me to manage complex and high-pressure situations with calm, confidence, and empathy.
Seeking to broaden my impact, I advanced my education at Albany State University, completing the RN-to-BSN Bridge Program, which strengthened my knowledge of community health, leadership, and preventive medicine. My desire to provide more comprehensive care led me to continue at Albany State University, where I earned my Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) degree.
Today, as a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of clinical experience in primary and urgent care, I am proud to be the Owner and Founder of Nutrix Healthcare — a clinic built on trust, compassion, and personalized care. My background has equipped me with a strong foundation in preventive care, chronic disease management, women’s health, and urgent care services.
I’m deeply committed to building lasting relationships with my patients — ensuring they feel heard, respected, and empowered in managing their health. Known for my compassionate approach and dedication to excellence, I believe in treating the whole person, not just the illness.
Through Nutrix Healthcare, my mission is to redefine quality care — creating a welcoming environment where every patient receives the time, attention, and respect they deserve.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey has been incredibly rewarding, but it hasn’t always been smooth. Like many healthcare professionals transitioning into business ownership, I faced several challenges along the way. One of the biggest hurdles was balancing the clinical side of care with the demands of running a healthcare practice — from managing operations and staffing to navigating insurance and compliance requirements.
There were also moments of self-doubt and growing pains that came with building something from the ground up. Establishing a new clinic meant earning the trust of patients, creating efficient systems, and ensuring that every patient experience reflected the values of compassion, quality, and respect.
Despite the obstacles, each challenge strengthened my resilience and deepened my purpose. Those experiences taught me to adapt, lead with empathy, and stay grounded in why I started — to provide personalized, patient-centered care that truly makes a difference.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Nutrix Healthcare is a primary care clinic focused on providing comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare for individuals and families. We specialize in preventive medicine, chronic disease management, women’s health, and accessible same-day primary care services. Our goal is to deliver care that’s personal, compassionate, and empowering — not just treating illness but helping patients understand and take control of their health.
What sets you apart from others?
What truly sets Nutrix Healthcare apart is our commitment to whole-person care. We take the time to listen to our patients, educate them, and develop individualized care plans that fit their lifestyle and needs. Our clinic combines modern, evidence-based medicine with a genuine, family-like approach. Patients often tell us they appreciate how we make healthcare feel approachable, comfortable, and judgment-free.
What are you most proud of, brand-wise?
We’re most proud of the trust we’ve built within our community. Nutrix Healthcare has become known for providing compassionate care that feels personal. Seeing our patients leave not only feeling better physically but also feeling heard and cared for is what keeps us motivated every day.
What do you want our readers to know about your brand, offerings, and services?
We want readers to know that Nutrix Healthcare is here to make quality healthcare simple and accessible. Whether it’s a routine check-up, managing a chronic condition, or addressing women’s health concerns, our team is dedicated to meeting patients where they are. We offer both in-person and telehealth visits, making it easy to get the care you need, when you need it. At Nutrix Healthcare, your health truly matters — and we’re here to help you every step of the way.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The healthcare industry is evolving rapidly, and we see the next 5–10 years bringing even greater focus on personalized, preventive, and technology-driven care. Patients today are more informed and proactive about their health, and the future will continue moving toward accessible, patient-centered models that prioritize convenience, education, and long-term wellness.
We expect to see major growth in telehealth, remote monitoring, and digital health tools that allow providers to manage chronic conditions more effectively and help patients stay engaged between visits. Preventive care will also take center stage — especially in managing conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and obesity before they become more serious.
Another key shift will be the emphasis on whole-person health — integrating physical, mental, and social well-being into care plans. At Nutrix Healthcare, we’re already embracing this approach by focusing not only on treatment but also on lifestyle support, patient education, and community-based health initiatives.
Ultimately, the future of healthcare will be about empowerment, accessibility, and personalization — ensuring that every patient has the tools, support, and resources to live a healthier life.
