Hi Samira, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always been interested in art as a hobby. I realized in 2015 I could make money from my passion. This encouraged me to start organizing how I wanted to turn my hobby into a business. I received my business license a year ago, and I have had exponential growth since then!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. It’s hard being an entrepreneur – especially when you also have a 9 to 5 and many other obligations in life. It has been #TeamNoSleep, honestly. People always talk about the benefits of being your own boss, but they never mention how determined you have to be. This isn’t a lifestyle for everyone. With my business, I also have to put myself in uncomfortable social situations; as someone with anxiety – it makes it a difficult task. I make sacrifices to reach my goals. Is it easy? no, but am I determined to be successful at it? absolutely.
We’ve been impressed with Artwork by Samira, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is called Artwork by Samira. I specialize in acrylic paintings, murals, and digital art. I can do it all – from creating your business logo to painting your grandma! lol. I am also known for creating celebrity art. This has been a blessing I did not plan on. I have been presented with so many opportunities, and I owe it all to God. I think what sets me apart is my determination and where my motivation comes from. I have a hustler’s mind but a servant’s heart. I am proud of how fast my business is growing, and I can’t have that without you! I want readers to know they can reach out with any artistic request! I also want to emphasize that they can show support just by following, liking, sharing, etc. Support doesn’t always cost money, and it is always appreciated for a growing business.
What makes you happy?
Art makes me happy of course! However, I am extremely optimistic. I can find the good in every situation. I laugh no matter what, and I remain grateful. This helps put my life into perspective and serves as a reminder that everything will work out. My goal is to make the world a little happier with my art.
