Today we’d like to introduce you to Shanteria Lowe.
Hi Shanteria, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
From a young age, I was drawn to the healthcare field and followed the traditional path of becoming a nurse. While nursing gave me a strong foundation in caring for others, I quickly realized that much of the focus was placed on managing illness through medication rather than exploring the preventive and holistic practices that could keep people well in the first place.
That curiosity and desire for a deeper connection to health led me to yoga. What started as a personal practice soon became a calling. I immersed myself in yoga’s holistic philosophy—learning not only about movement but also about mindfulness, breathwork, and lifestyle practices that support overall wellness. Naturally, I began weaving these principles into my nursing, bridging the gap between traditional medicine and holistic health.
Today, as the owner of Slowe Wellness, I bring both worlds together. My nursing background gives me a deep understanding of the body, while yoga and holistic practices allow me to approach health from a preventative and functional standpoint. At Slowe Wellness, our mission is to cultivate healthier bodies through conditioning, functionality, and intentional movement—building strength and resilience for longevity, not just for the moment.
What started as a personal journey of curiosity has grown into a community-driven space where healing, movement, and empowerment come together.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—and I don’t think it’s meant to be. With every journey, there are trials, tribulations, and plenty of learning curves. For me, one of the biggest challenges was finding and reaching the right demographic—people who truly value the blend of holistic wellness and functional conditioning that I offer. At times, it was discouraging, but I came to understand those challenges as necessary parts of the process.
Each obstacle gave me a chance to grow, refine my approach, and develop a deeper understanding of not only my work but also myself. Instead of seeing setbacks as failures, I learned to view them as signs that something needed to shift or expand. Those lessons continue to shape the way I show up for my clients and my community today.

Brand-wise, I am most proud of the community we are building—a space where people can come as they are, heal at their own pace, and leave feeling empowered to carry wellness into their everyday lives. At Slowe Wellness, we believe that if you’re not happy with how you feel—whether it’s in your body, your work, your relationships, or your spirit—you absolutely have the ability to shift the world within and around you. Healing is your birthright, and our mission is to guide you toward reclaiming it.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Some of the resources that have had a big impact on me include The Yamas and Niyamas by Deborah Adele, Perfectly Imperfect by Baron Baptiste, and Touch for Health by John and Matthew Thie. Each of these books has deepened my understanding of how the body, mind, and spirit are interconnected, and how we can approach wellness from a place of balance and intention.
That said, the most valuable resource I’ve discovered is my own body. Learning to truly listen, honor, and respond to the way my body shows up each day has been more powerful than anything else. It guides how I work, how I rest, and how I show up for others—and that practice of self-awareness has become the foundation for both my personal growth and my business.
