Today we’d like to introduce you to Shatyrah Anderson.
Hi Shatyrah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Pastriologi began in 2020 as a passion-driven dessert business built around creating comfort, joy, and memorable flavors. What started with a love for baking quickly turned into a successful venture, with rum cakes and cheesecakes becoming customer favorites and helping the brand grow a loyal following.
After a period of stepping away to focus on other opportunities and personal growth, I returned to Pastriologi in 2025 with renewed clarity and purpose. Recently, I relaunched the brand with a refreshed identity, starting intentionally with artisan breads and small desserts to rebuild, refine, and reconnect with the community.
The response has been incredibly encouraging especially at my first rebrand event in October, which exceeded expectations and reaffirmed my vision for Pastriologi. Today, I’m focused on steady growth, strengthening the brand’s foundation, and preparing to expand into the Nashville market in the coming year.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey hasn’t been completely smooth. Like many small businesses, Pastriologi has experienced ups and downs particularly with the rising cost of ingredients and supplies, which has made the financial side of the business more challenging than the creative side. While creating and refining products comes naturally, managing expenses and pricing has required careful planning and adjustment.
Another ongoing challenge has been finding and reaching the right customers. I’ve explored unique and creative ways to connect with people, but identifying exactly which audience to cater to takes time, experimentation, and patience. Despite these challenges, each obstacle has helped shape a stronger, more resilient approach to growing the brand.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Pastriologi is a dessert-focused brand rooted in intention, comfort, and quality. We create thoughtfully crafted baked goods that balance nostalgic flavors with an elevated, made-from-scratch approach. Originally known for our rich rum cakes and creamy cheesecakes, the brand is currently expanding with artisan breads and small desserts as part of a refreshed relaunch.
What sets Pastriologi apart is the care behind every product and the decision to grow with purpose rather than rush scale. Our offerings are designed to feel personal whether it’s a single loaf of bread or a dessert made for a special moment. While trends change, our focus remains on consistency, flavor, and creating items that feel both familiar and special.
Brand wise, we are most proud of our resilience and evolution. After stepping away and returning with a rebrand, Pastriologi successfully re-entered the market with strong community support, highlighted by a successful October rebrand event. That response reaffirmed our identity and direction.
We want readers to know that Pastriologi is more than baked goods it’s a growing brand built on passion, patience, and a genuine love for creating. As we continue refining our offerings and preparing for expansion into the Nashville market, our goal is to bring warmth, quality, and intentional baking to every customer we serve.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I view risk as something that should be taken with intention rather than impulse. For me, risk isn’t about moving fast or chasing trends, it’s about making informed decisions, even when there’s uncertainty involved.
One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was stepping back from Pastriologi and later choosing to return. Pausing the business meant walking away from momentum, but it also gave me the space to grow personally and professionally. Restarting required financial investment, rebuilding trust with customers, and accepting that growth would look different the second time around. That decision came with uncertainty, but it also allowed me to relaunch the brand with more clarity and purpose.
I also take measured risks in how I grow, starting smaller with breads and select desserts rather than expanding too quickly. This approach helps manage costs, reduce waste, and protect the long-term health of the brand.
Overall, I don’t see myself as a reckless risk-taker, but I am willing to take thoughtful risks when they align with my vision. I believe the most meaningful progress comes from balancing courage with patience, and every risk I take is guided by sustainability, learning, and long-term growth.
