Hidden Gems: Meet Staci Gibbs of The Chateau Cigar Lounge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Staci Gibbs

Hi Staci, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started working part-time at The Chateau a little over 14 years ago, originally just to supplement my income as a makeup artist. What started as a side job quickly became a true passion. When COVID hit, I decided to retire from the makeup industry and stepped into the role of General Manager. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with three different owners, and for the past five years, I’ve been building and growing the business alongside the newest owner.

We eventually outgrew our old location, which led us to our new and improved space in Johns Creek—a major upgrade for both our lounge and our customers. Our expanded humidor and bar have allowed us to curate an even better experience for cigar enthusiasts. Cigar lounges have become a haven for smokers, especially as places to enjoy a good cigar are becoming harder to find. At The Chateau, we take pride in creating a welcoming environment where no one stays a stranger for long.

To ensure we’re always offering the best selection and staying ahead of industry trends, I regularly attend trade shows like PCA. This helps us bring in exciting new cigars, keep our humidor fresh, and maintain the high standards our customers have come to expect. The journey has been incredible, and I’m excited to see where we go next!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been an incredible journey, but definitely not always a smooth one. The cigar industry, like any other, comes with its own set of challenges. Working with three different owners over the years meant adjusting to different management styles, business goals, and expectations. Each transition came with a learning curve, but it also gave me valuable experience in running a successful lounge.

Moving to our new location was another huge milestone, but it wasn’t without its obstacles. Growing pains, logistical challenges, and ensuring we maintained our welcoming atmosphere while expanding were all things we had to work through.

On a larger scale, cigar lounges face increasing restrictions as places to smoke become fewer and farther between. It’s a constant battle to provide a space where cigar lovers can relax and enjoy their passion without interference.

Despite the struggles, I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything. Every challenge has made The Chateau stronger, and I’m proud of how far we’ve come.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
The Chateau Cigar Lounge is more than just a place to smoke—it’s a community. We’ve built a space where cigar lovers, whether seasoned aficionados or newcomers, can come together, unwind, and enjoy a top-tier selection of cigars and craft cocktails.

What sets us apart is the experience we offer. Our humidor is meticulously curated with a wide range of cigars to suit every palate, from boutique brands to well-known favorites. We pride ourselves on maintaining the perfect humidity and ensuring every cigar is in prime condition. Our bar is just as impressive, featuring expertly crafted cocktails and a strong selection of whiskey, bourbon, tequila, and other spirits that pair perfectly with a good smoke.

But what truly makes The Chateau special is the atmosphere. We’ve created a welcoming space where no one stays a stranger for long. Whether you’re here for a casual smoke, a business meeting, or to catch a game, we want you to feel at home. Our staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and always ready to help you find the perfect cigar and drink pairing.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the reputation we’ve built. We’re known for being one of the best lounges in the area, not just because of our selection but because of our hospitality. For those who haven’t visited yet, I’d say this—whether you’re a cigar enthusiast or just curious, come in and experience The Chateau for yourself. Great cigars, great drinks, and even better company—that’s what we’re all about.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite things about my childhood was that I moved almost every two years. While that might sound challenging to some, I loved it. Each move meant a new place to explore, new people to meet, and new experiences to dive into. It taught me how to adapt quickly, connect with different kinds of people, and find something to appreciate in every place I lived.

Looking back, I think that constant change shaped who I am today. It’s probably why I thrive in an environment like The Chateau, where I get to meet new people every day and create a space where everyone feels welcome. No matter where I was, I always found a way to make each place feel like home—and that’s exactly what I want our lounge to be for our guests.
