Today we’d like to introduce you to Super Julie Braun.
Hi Super Julie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I got started in business when I was five years old. When I was eight years old, I started a recycling business. Later, I upgraded myself to a paper route back in the days when people used to read newspapers. I bought a paper route for $5 from a kid down the block. In about two weeks, I had already made $20, so it was a good investment. I was always interested in business. When I had the opportunity to work for big box brands and corporations like Victoria’s Secret, Carter’s Children’s Wear, Nike, MTV, I was fortunate to work in the corporate offices on creative teams. I was lucky to do that, but when I turned about forty years old, I decided to go out on my own and start my own business. I had no idea what I was doing because I had been with corporations forever, and they have very deep pockets. I spent the next five to ten years just above the poverty line. Making money starting a business, turning that around to something else, and going through business partners was really hard before I got to Superinterns.com. Then that morphed and pivoted into Super Purposes, and we’re just a startup company. We’ve been in existence for three years, but we are starting to hit some of our first financial goals, which is very exciting. Our company, Super Purposes, helps people get the salary that they deserve. We help people with their careers. We try to take the fear and formality out of career.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I think the biggest struggle has been financial. That’s been one of the biggest challenges. I think when you are an entrepreneur, you always think you’re going to be smarter than everybody else. However, the reality is that you are just as dumb as dirt. You just don’t know what problems are going to come your way until they arrive. It can be so rocky and that’s why most businesses don’t make it the first year and because there’s so much risk, there’s a financial ruin potential. When you start your own business, relationships can get wrecked because you spend tons of time working on the business. I would have to say that I experienced mental, emotional, financial, and even physical pain in creating our company, but I wouldn’t change anything. I guess I’m a glutton for punishment. I have loved my lessons and the journey, even when it’s hard. I still enjoy it very much, but it’s not for the faint of heart.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Super Purposes helps people get a job in a very short amount of time. We take the fear and formality out of career. We help people get the salary they deserve. We work with a diverse group of people such as stay-at-home moms, veterans, and formerly incarcerated individuals.
I think we’re making the career path approachable. Most people get very, very scared when they think of their career. They worry about it. They think, “Am I ever going to get to do what I want to do?”. They find themselves questioning. They’re worried about the interviews that they’re going to go on. They worry about meeting people along the way. They are scared to negotiate. We do our best job to remove those kinds of fears and to just let people know that your career path is just about building relationships and growing at your area of expertise.
An interview should be an interview, it should never feel like an interrogation. It should always feel like a nice conversation, right? So I think that’s something that sets us apart from others. What I’m most proud about, brand-wise, is I think that we are unique and special in that we are casual, kind of fun and funny, and we have a very diverse group of people on our team. I think the other thing that I’m most proud about, brand-wise, is we are a PR machine. So every week we have something that is in the news, whether it’s an article that is talking about us, a podcast, or a story that’s being told on a radio show. We are just really masterful at our PR and digital media exposure.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
The Employee Revolution aligns with “The Great Resignation”, which describes the phenomenon of millions of American workers quitting their jobs in the wake of COVID-19. Because the pandemic disrupted lives, time at home allowed employees to reevaluate their priorities. As a result, people aren’t content to go back to the way things were. Many workers became disillusioned by the “American Dream” and the daily work-hamster wheel routine. The long commutes, low pay, few benefits, and poor work-life balance influences people’s decisions to leave their jobs. The number of digital nomads has increased due to peoples’ shifting priorities and dissatisfaction about employers’ treatment during the pandemic. As a result, The Employee Revolution is forcing employers to rapidly adapt to the new demands of the workforce to stay in business.
