Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydney Berry.
Hi Sydney, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started in the beauty industry back in 2017 by doing lash extensions. I loved doing them so much and meeting different kinds of women from all walks of life. I then learned to do lash extensions in the state of GA, you need to be an esthetician. I didn’t know much about it but I began to do research and knew this was my lane! To make woman feel and look their best gives me so much joy. I got my license and started working in my living room at my one bedroom apartment. I did facials and lashes in my living room! Lol. I then moved to a two-bedroom apartment with my fiancé at the time and was so excited about having my own room to work out of even if it was in my home! I didn’t have much money but my fiancé gave me $1000 to start. I got products, tools, decor… everything I needed to start and been going since. I trapped it out! My husband was ready for me to get my own place. 2020 I got my storefront in the same plaza as my husband who has a gym (@mr.fitness.fiance check him out) I never knew I would have my own place this early in my career but God had different plans. Still learning and growing!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No! I became pregnant while getting my building together and only my second year as an entrepreneur. It was exhausting. I learned so much and I am still learning everyday.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an esthetician located in Duluth, GA. I specialize in lash extension, results-driven facial treatments such as dermaplaning, microneedling, nano infusion and microdermabrasion and I will soon be offering brow services such as brow waxing, tinting, and ombre powder brow (permanent makeup)
What sets me apart is my honesty and integrity. It’s not all about the money for me. I am gonna tell you what you need and what will work. With treatments, we start off slow then we can get advance. I am about your skin and lash health at all times! You come first!
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
My husband is my mentor. He has been an entrepreneur before it was “cool” lol he has been a gym owner since 2015 and he’s now a mentor. He is sooooo wise so he helps not only me but others! As far as networking, I am still very close with all my Estie bestie from school so we help each other a lot.
