Tanisha Coffey is a seasoned entrepreneur with 18+ years under her belt. The Detroit native launched her career working in television as an Associate Producer at WWMT TV in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She eventually left there and headed to Hotlanta where she attended a postgraduate program and became a Certified Advertising Copywriter. The plan was to work at one of the major advertising agencies in town upon graduating…but the fates had another plan in mind.
Unable to find work, Tanisha decided to hire herself! She began working as a freelance copywriter/ghostwriter and marketing consultant. She later formed her first LLC. As her business continued to evolve, Coffey’s The Lofty Entrepreneur brand was born. Eventually, Coffey closed her business to form a joint venture with her husband called League Of Legacies. The company’s mission is to help individuals to build a legacy by educating and providing services to them in the areas of entrepreneurship & financial literacy.
Today, as The Lofty Entrepreneur, Coffey serves as a business and marketing strategist for small business owners. She helps them to streamline and monetize their businesses based on her motto: Intentional. Strategic. Action. In 2021, Coffey launched the second League of Legacies brand, Rock Solid Financial. Coffey focuses on providing financial literacy education, with a primary focus on how small business owners can use insurance vehicles to strategically to grow, cash flow and protect their business as well as to fund a tax-free retirement nest egg.
In addition to running the two brands, Coffey is also a published author and course creator. As an author, Coffey has penned two books under The Lofty Entrepreneur brand–30 Minute Startup: A Step-by-Step Guide For Setting Up Your Business Legally and $100 Bucks Branding: Branding Your Business On A Shoestring Budget–and is a contributing author in the 2021 Amazon Best-Selling book The Fearless Entrepreneurs: Fear Less, Be More. Coffey’s flagship courses for entrepreneurs include 30-Minute Startup, 7-Day Business Launch Intensive and Local Domination Academy.
Coffey possesses a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a specialization in TV / Film Production, a certificate in Marketing / Advertising Copywriting, an MBA in Supply Chain & Logistics and multiple professional licenses. When she isn’t speaking, writing or assisting clients, you’ll usually find her working on an independent film project or relaxing near a pool with her husband and children.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth path at all.
Entrepreneurship wasn’t “the dream.” I became an entrepreneur to survive.
When I started, I wasn’t prepared at all. Entrepreneurship wasn’t a primary path in my family either. So, everything I learned, I learned as I went along.
Finding clients, learning how to charge for my work and be able to make enough to take care of myself, and figuring out how to not “give my expertise away” are all struggles that I faced. In the midst of that, I was, and still am sometimes, challenged with figuring out how to run my business(es) while also being the mother that I want to be. Juggling is not easy and there have been times where I have chosen to pull the reigns back on my business significantly (or even entirely) to focus on motherhood. That has caused starts and stops in my business’ momentum over the years as well. But, it’s what I wanted to do; it’s what I have chosen to do.

I oversee two brands, The Lofty Entrepreneur and Rock Solid Financial through our company, League Of Legacies.
As The Lofty Entrepreneur, I serve as a business and marketing strategist for small business owners. I primarily help service-based business owners to streamline and monetize their businesses based on my motto: Intentional. Strategic. Action. The primary services I offer include marketing strategy execution oversight, 1-on-1 strategic mentoring, marketing strategy creation, and strategic marketing consulting.
In 2021, I launched the second League of Legacies brand, Rock Solid Financial. I focus on helping small business owners to use insurance products strategically to grow, cash flow and protect their business as well as for creating executive compensation plans, buy-sell agreement funding, obtaining business loans, business succession planning, business exit strategy planning and tax-free retirement income strategies. When working with individuals, the focus is on how they can use advanced insurance-based strategies to build wealth, insulate themselves from financial risk and preserve their estate.
