Hi Terrace, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Thank you so much for having me again! I am an entrepreneur, marketing expert, and launch strategist. I am originally from Saginaw, MI, and I moved to the Atlanta area 8 years ago. Ever since I was a child, I’ve wanted to open and own my own business, but growing up, I didn’t have the opportunity to see anyone I knew pursuing entrepreneurship. This caused me to doubt my ability to achieve this goal. While in college, I was exposed to many different people my age who were creating and starting businesses and projects. Exposure to this environment gave me the courage I needed to finally take the leap. Surrounded by so much motivation gave me the realization that there would never be a perfect time to launch.
While in college, I launched my first business, Hollywood Flare Event Planning. This business truly taught me the lessons that have catapulted who I am as a businesswoman and what my business is today. During my final year of college is where I began my career in digital marketing. This is when I began to learn just how impactful social media could be on the growth and development of organizations.
In 2015, I worked as a marketing assistant and product launch specialist for a dental manufacturing company. This was also the year I launched the couture lipstick collection in collaboration with a parent company. The demand of the newly launched products quickly increased, and the parent company was unable to meet the demand. This challenge forced me to make the decision of launching my own cosmetics company or quitting altogether. I decided to launch my own company in 2016.
The following year, I relocated to the Atlanta area, and once here, I began work as a marketing coordinator for one of the largest commercial real estate firms globally. Simultaneously, I managed my cosmetics company part-time. During COVID, many businesses had to shift their digital marketing strategies, and my freelance clientele began to grow rapidly. In 2020, I quit my corporate to launch my own digital marketing firm and to run my cosmetics business full-time.
My businesses have continued to evolve and grow since then, transitioning into Couture Inc. and L.I.C. Marketing Company. Couture Inc. is a lifestyle platform and online store for women. L.I.C. Marketing Company is a full-service digital marketing and creative agency. During my entrepreneurial journey, I have learned so much, and now my mission is to teach startup entrepreneurs how to establish, build, and leverage profitable business models.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. I didn’t have a blueprint or anyone to point me in the right direction. A lot of what I learned was a result of trial and error. Clearly identifying my target audience, finding the right vendors to work, budgeting, and shifting my mindset overall was extremely challenging.
Growing up in a single-parent household and being a first-generation scholar taught me to troubleshoot and navigate my way through life. I am no stranger to hard work and doing what it takes to achieve my goals.

I define success as living a lifestyle that is custom to what makes you happy. I know this sounds cliché, While I do believe that the financial and material gain are an element to success, it is also the easiest to attain. Happiness is something that everyone spends their lives seeking, but very few find. Success in my opinion is determining what you want your life to look like, then waking up every day and going after it.
