Today we’d like to introduce you to Tierra Blue
Hi Tierra, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Tierra Blue, originally from a small town known as Ellaville, GA. I left there went 15 miles up the road moved to Oglethorpe also a small town where I grew there and graduated from Macon County High School in 2013. I left home and joined the United States Air Force where I served approximately 8 years, 8 months and 2 weeks as a Healthcare Administrator. During my time of serving, I completed 3 online degrees which are: Associate’s in Healthcare Management, a Bachelor’s of Science in Information Technology Management and a Master of Arts in Healthcare Management and now currently pending a Masters in Cybersecurity at Mercer University. Currently I hold a Cybersecurity position with a large consulting firm that I have now been working for almost 3 years now.
In addition, to the position I do operate (2) businesses, Caress Her Hair which a hair extension brand. “Caress Her Hair is the brand that has been exclusively founded by an Armed Forces Veteran. The purpose of the company is to offer quality virgin hair extensions and various accessories to accommodate any nationality with any texture type hair. The quality has been ensured to endure as long as 6 months; however and can most certainly last a long time to years after the fact, with no shedding and no tangling. Caress Her Hair has very affordable pricing that varies by length and texture.”
My second business serves as a travel advisor that I named Rich Girl Destinations. I have two beautiful daughters that I call the Rich Girls, which is where I got the name for the travel business for.
Even as a kid, I would do little things to make money such as be the person selling snacks in the neighborhood. My senior year in high school, I worked two jobs at a local pine timber company as an assistant and at our local recreational department. My mentality has always been the “go-getter” type. To me the hustle doesn’t stop, it’s like I complete one task and immediately begin another one. I don’t know where I am going in life but what I do know I will give it my all.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My military experience was difficult in the beginning being away from home at such a young age. I came from a close-knit family of 4 and we were all we had basically. Joining the military by itself gave me guidance and discipline, It grew me into a young lady super early which already set me aside from my peers, made me look at life in a different perspective. The trials that I was given molded and shaped me and made me become a resilient individual.
