Hidden Gems: Meet Tiffany Ghent of StarCast Tea

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Ghent.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have traveled the world and have spent over two decades as a professional vocalist, musician, and entertainer. I was born and raised in Fort Pierce, Florida to a lineage of legendary artists and Lap Steel guitar musicians (see AJ Ghent, Aubrey Ghent Sr., Henry Nelson, sacred steel guitar). It was my brother, AJ Ghent, who encouraged me to Atlanta, GA. At that time, he was in the process of signing a recording deal with Southern Ground Records label, who all of Atlanta knew to be the home of Zac Brown, leader of the Grammy Award-winning Zac Brown Band. So, I became a part of what was then known as “The AJ Ghent Band, who became the 2015 Atlanta Braves Band of the Year. While touring with the Zac Brown Band, we also played other local spots in the Metro Atlanta area like Smith’s Ole Bar and Terminal West. I had no idea that in just a few years, this experience would lead to farming and founding an Organic Herbal Tea company and Farm.

We experienced, firsthand, the wear and tear of the entertainment business. Being a creative can be extremely tough. You’re always under the microscope, your talent, gifts…money…notoriety. The glits and glamour is just a luring. Over the years, I’ve witnessed my family and industry peers impacted by the rigorous tour and performance schedules and the life of creatives with deadlines and record label demands. Not eating the best, not sleeping the best. From stress and anxiety before a performance to the workout lifting of heavy stage equipment, long hours of show preparation, setting up, tearing down…muscle aches, migranes, It’s tough. Many creatives in positions like this don’t even spend a lot of time with their loved ones and even turn to substance abuse and drugs. My family and I are blessed to have always worked together and covered and protected one another.

Even to this day, my husband Dean and I work very closely together. He is an accredited Farmer. I met him through my brother and at the time, he was a Master Farmer’s Apprentice. He invited me to spend my off tour days interning with him and his family at Local Lands Organically Grown Gardens. There, I spent time learning about gardening, herbs, and commercial farming and the earth as the greatest stage that I could ever grace. It performs/yields the most amazing benefits for total mind, body, and soul health and wellness.

It was here that I discovered the love for farming and learning to self-sustain. Learning how our body really is a temple that must be taken care of appropriately in the most natural sense possible so that we can have a healthy place to house all the gifts and talents we possess. I knew that with this information, I could be an even better support my family and industry peers with Health and Wellness products to combat the physical and mental wear and tear that the business of music and entertainment may impose.

My husband and I teamed up with the TeaBrew Farm of herb gurus as a resource and reinforcement. After much consideration, we thought it best to focus on the niche demographic of Singers, Musicians, and Public Speakers, but recently we have enhanced our focus to ALL Creatives. Creatives in Entertainment, Business, and even Education. The products are strategically designed to aid and promote the Health and Wellness in Mind, Body, and Spirit for this core group. Today, StarCast Tea Farm is coming to fruition with much love and support for the brilliant minds and creatives that surround us. StarCast Tea Farm debut is Spring of 2022.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For the most part, it has been a smooth road, like this was truly written in the Stars. The Most High has had this in his plan since the beginning and we are blessed to have his continued grace and guidance. The biggest struggle so far is getting my father, lap steel guitar legend Aubrey Ghent Sr. to totally kick his soda habit and drink more of “The Marley Blend” tea.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about StarCast Tea?
StarCast Tea is an organic herbal tea company that has created and designed teas for Creatives–Creative Minds and Artists. All of the tea products are song, movie, art, or dance inspired with titles like “Let Me Clear My Throat,” “Under Pressure,” “The Heavy Weights,” and “Can You Stand the Rain.” I would say this coupled with the fact that we grow our own herbs for the teas, definitely sets us apart from other tea companies.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I have learned to Always Remain Organic in a GMO World. Allow the organic process of life and experience to impress, mold and make you the best you. Stay hydrated, get lots of sun, drink lots of herbal tea. Never allow the familiarity with who you are today rob you of the total you that you are destined to become…make room now for YOU tomorrow.
