Hi Tinashe, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My photography story is nothing short of a testimony of BEING IN THE RIGHT SPACES and TAKING A LEAP. It all started when i was in university in China when I was thrown into the deep end and began my photography journey. Enthusiasm, A LOT of practice and experimenting helped with my growth and making a name for myself in the industry. I am a photographer who wants to evoke a feeling in the viewers.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
climbing the photography ladder is nothing easy nor is it smooth. its a very harsh hike and you meet a lot along the way. The biggest struggle one could face is gate keeping from other photographers, although i believed that once you join you’re now part of a collaborative circle. I was wrong, its a really competitive industry
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Gaxx photography & Kreate Business ?
So initially i started off with Gaxx photography which is a concept and luxe lifestyle photography/visual brand that focuses on creating a safe and comfortable space for women to hand in their insecurities by the door. We are known for breaking barriers/stigmas and being out of the box when it comes to photography in the country.
My other brand Kreate Business is a creative warehouse that mainly focuses on corporates and re-brands of big firms. We offer Photography, videography, cinematography, graphic designing. social media work etc. We focus on reimaging brands through our eyes.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Our industry is going towards a big shift now that we have tools like Ai to play with and help us achieve results faster. Although many think Ai is here to take over, i believe its going to take a lot for Ai to be able to give direction and the human- experience of being in a studio. The industry s going to be highly automated for a lot of things but i believe we are going to lose a lot of great artists that are being drowned by the new wave of Ai.
