Hidden Gems: Meet Todd Falconbury of Musso Design Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Todd Falconbury.

Hi Todd, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I went back to school in my thirties to finally earn my degree in Interior Design. It felt strange sitting in classrooms with students much younger than me, but I knew exactly why I was there, and that kept me focused.

My internship placed me under Bill Musso, a well-respected name in Atlanta design. I expected to learn the basics, but I ended up finding a mentor who taught me how to see design differently — how details matter, how spaces shape people, and how the work is really about trust.

The internship turned into a job, and that job turned into a long career at Musso Design Group. Over the years, I grew with the company and took on more responsibility. Eighteen years after I first walked into Bill’s office as an intern, I sat across from him again — this time taking ownership of the company in 2022.

Buying the company wasn’t just a career milestone. It was the result of starting later, working hard, and sticking with what I knew I was meant to do.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I faced several challenges along the way. Balancing school with adult responsibilities was tough, and I often felt out of place as an older student. Starting at the bottom again as an intern forced me to swallow my pride, while learning the technical side of interior design was demanding. I had to prove myself in a respected, established firm, grow into leadership over many years, and eventually take on the responsibility of buying a long-standing company.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Musso Design Group is a well-established interior design firm based in Atlanta, known for its high-end residential projects and attention to detail. With decades of experience, the firm has built a reputation for creating spaces that are both functional and timeless, blending classic design principles with contemporary style. Under Bill Musso, the company became a trusted name in luxury interiors, emphasizing craftsmanship, client relationships, and design integrity. Today, it continues to thrive under new leadership while maintaining the legacy of excellence established over 30 years ago.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
At Musso Design Group, collaboration and support have always been at the heart of how we work. Bill Musso fostered an environment where learning from each other was encouraged, ideas were shared freely, and every team member felt valued. This approach didn’t stay inside the studio — we carried it into our work with clients. By truly listening, collaborating closely, and valuing their input, we turned their visions into spaces that felt personal and meaningful. Our clients experienced the same level of care and teamwork we showed each other, making the design process a partnership rather than just a service. That culture of mentorship, collaboration, and client-centered focus made it possible for me to grow from an intern into the owner of the company, carrying forward the spirit that defines Musso Design Group.
