Hi Tomecca, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In 2024, life threw me a curveball I was unexpectedly terminated from my 9-to-5 job. As a single mother of three, I suddenly faced the reality of supporting my family while juggling all the responsibilities of everyday life. I had held my notary license since 2004, but it had always been tied to my 9-to-5 I never imagined I could build my own business with it.
I’ll never forget the moment that changed everything for me. I needed to print, sign, and send critical documents, but there simply wasn’t anyone in my immediate area to do it. I thought, “There has to be a better way.” I wanted services that could come to people like me busy parents, professionals, anyone balancing a million responsibilitiesand that’s when I realized my notary license could be the key.
What truly transformed my journey was finding a community that supported me every step of the way. I joined the Notary Training Hub, where I learned the ins and outs of the business, from loan signings to mobile services. The Atlanta Chapter, led by the inspiring Kisha Foster of Stamped Pro Notary I discovered mentorship, encouragement, and a network of professionals who genuinely wanted to see me succeed. I also connected with incredible notary experts like Tirrell Stevenson of Stonecrest Mobile Notary and Torra Hancock of Official Tee Stamp Mobile Notary, who all shared insights, tips, and hands-on guidance that helped me navigate the business confidently.
With their support, I finally stepped out of my comfort zone, broke through my shyness, and launched my own mobile notary business. Today, I provide convenience, reliability, and peace of mind to families, small businesses, and busy professionals. But more than that, I’ve learned that with the right guidance, a supportive community, and determination, even life’s unexpected setbacks can become opportunities to grow, thrive, and create a business that truly matters.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The beginning was definitely slow. In the first few months, I didn’t get many notary jobs, and the ones I did were often low-paying. It was a humbling experience, and at times, I questioned whether I could make this work as a full-time business.
But I didn’t let that stop me. I realized that to grow, I needed to expand my services beyond traditional notary work. I became an ordained minister, started offering field inspections, and explored other complementary services that my clients needed. Each new service not only brought in additional income but also allowed me to reach more people in the community and provide solutions that truly made a difference in their lives.
