Hidden Gems: Meet Travis Looney of Sky’s The Limit Entertainment, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Travis Looney.

Travis Looney

Hi Travis, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I joined band in the 6th grade, and music has been my lifeline ever since. After losing both of my parents at a young age, music kept me grounded and focused through some of the most challenging years of my life. I became a father at 16, but with the support of my family, I stayed on track, finishing high school with good grades, going to college, and continuing to play in the band. I went on to play trumpet in the University of Alabama’s Million Dollar Band, while also songwriting and earning major music honors including the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award and the John Philip Sousa Award.

My career began taking shape when I formed the group “Deezire,” who went on to win Best Group on USA Network’s World Showcase at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. That momentum led me into artist development and management, where my work quickly drew attention from Capitol Records and other industry professionals. I became known as a quiet force behind the scenes, helping shape artists who would go on to become stars. I later founded Sky’s The Limit Entertainment and have since worked across music, TV, and film with clients such as Qwanell Mosley (Day26), Nikki Gilbert, Angel McCoughtry, Olivia, and others, securing placements on shows like R&B Divas, Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, Apollo Live, and CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I became a father at 16, so I had to learn responsibility early and keep moving even when life felt heavy. At 25, I was diagnosed with Job’s Syndrome, a rare immune disorder that caused my body to fight against itself. There were days when the fatigue alone made it hard to even get out of bed, but I still showed up for my goals and those closest to me.

I’ve also faced some emotional and professional setbacks. I lost several close family members along the way, and I experienced betrayal in the music industry, including having one of my first major songs stolen, a song that went on to make millions. That moment took a lot out of me, and eventually I lost everything. But I rebuilt. And that bounce back taught me that purpose can’t be stolen, and when you keep going, you don’t just survive, you transform! I’m working on a biopic series now to show the World that it may be harder to overcome setbacks if your name isn’t as big as your peers but you can still overcome it!

We’ve been impressed with Sky’s The Limit Entertainment, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Sky’s The Limit Entertainment is the leading independent entertainment company offering a comprehensive suite of services encompassing music production and distribution, strategic marketing campaigns, television and film production, and innovative merchandising solutions. I’m most proud of the integrity behind my brand and the strong family core that drives everything I do. Everything I build is rooted in real work, real talent, and real results.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was very quiet and observant. I learned quickly, and my mind was always working, even when I wasn’t the loudest in the room. My closest friends would tell you I was one of the funniest person they knew, but I didn’t really see that in myself at the time. I was naturally introverted, but life and losing my parents so young pushed me to grow into someone who could step forward, speak up, and connect with others. Through it all, family was my foundation. I was raised to value our bond, our traditions, and the idea that no matter what happens in the world, home is where you refuel and remember who you are. Music & Sports was my biggest interest.
