Hidden Gems: Meet Vicky Wilkens of Marovi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vicky Wilkens.

Hi Vicky, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my career in consumer marketing across technology, media, and sports. I’ve always loved figuring out how to tell a story – either the story of a brand, a team, or an individual.

While in these leadership positions, I was both on the candidate side of executive hiring and the client side – having my own experience evaluated by recruiters, while also evaluating others for roles on my team.

I moved into a marketing role within an executive search firm and finally saw the full system behind the scenes – how talent decisions were made, where judgment lived, and where it broke down. I saw how much value and influence existed in a recruiter’s expertise, and how little of it was made visible or transferable – to companies or those seeking new opportunities.

I co-founded Marovi with Matthew Mooney (executive search expertise) and Jin Ro (product and data expertise) to close that gap. Marovi helps talent teams and recruiters find, assess, and present candidates quickly – with clear measurement, evidence, and economic efficiency. We also help leaders seeking new roles understand how they fit (or don’t) for a position, through the lens of how executive recruiters actually evaluate.

I want to build something that brings more clarity and fairness to hiring – for the people making the decisions and the people whose careers are shaped by them. Telling the stories of companies, teams, and individuals requires transparency and objectiveness — which I get to do through our platform.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We officially launched Marovi into the market at the HR Tech Conference in fall 2025, so we’re still very new. We have an ongoing startup joke – some days are “good Marovi days,” and others are “bad Marovi days.”

What’s been easy is co-founding the company with Matt and Jin – people I’ve worked with for years and explicitly trust. We each bring a different angle: Jin from product and data, me from marketing and sales, and Matt with four decades of executive search expertise. Our clients benefit from that range of perspectives, which shows up in how we design, build, and engage.

What’s been most fascinating is the market’s feedback. Early on, someone told me, “Let the market tell you what it needs.” That’s proven true. What you think is the right first solution often turns into something entirely different once you’re deep in client conversations. Listening, pivoting, and adapting to what talent teams, recruiters, and candidates actually need in the moment has been one of the most energizing parts of building Marovi so far.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Marovi is an executive hiring platform paired with expert services. We help talent teams and recruiters find, assess, and present executive-level talent with transparent, evidence-backed results – in minutes, not weeks.

What sets Marovi apart is our focus on evaluation, not volume.

While most hiring research and sourcing tools surface names through keywords or black box AI models, we turn each role into explicit criteria and assess leaders against it the way elite executive recruiters actually do. Our platform captures recruiter judgment, context, and reasoning – making it visible, adaptable, and measurable.

One of our most differentiated capabilities is how we present the results. Marovi transforms what traditionally takes weeks of research and compilation into real-time individual assessment reports and scorecards.

Marovi continuously adapts as new data is introduced, pulling from existing CRMs, internal talent pools, and known networks – not just external market data – so organizations and recruiters can recall and leverage what they already know.

Brand-wise, we’re most proud of applying decades of executive search expertise at scale. Our technology doesn’t automate judgment away – it supports it.

And I’m very excited to transfer this knowledge to those seeking new roles, allowing them to understand, challenge, and improve how their professional narrative is perceived.

Right now, you can engage Marovi in multiple ways, from self-serve platform use to expert-led searches, depending on how hands-on you want to be. With fixed, predictable pricing, Marovi reshapes the economics of executive hiring – creating greater value for talent teams and search firms while opening access for organizations previously priced out.

How do you define success?
For Marovi, solving real hiring problems in real-time for talent teams, recruiters, and job seekers.

Personally, success is living my intentions fully and without fear – taking on challenges that stretch me and force me out of my comfort zone. And my entire family surviving the teenage years of my two girls.
