Today we’d like to introduce you to Witni Jackson.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My passion for this field began early in life. As a child, my mother often took me to work with her, and I admired the way she carried herself as a social worker. Even though I didn’t fully understand what she did at the time, I knew she was helping people in meaningful ways. As I grew older, I gained a deeper appreciation for her profession and the impact social work can have on individuals and communities.
After earning my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, I decided to follow in her footsteps and earned a Masters in Social Work. While working in a psychiatric hospital and pursuing my doctoral studies, I developed a strong interest in research, systems, and education. I realized that creating lasting change could extend beyond direct client work—it could also happen by supporting and empowering other clinicians. That realization led me to establish Kuna Consulting, a clinical education and consultation business focused on promoting ethical practice, resilience, and growth within the helping professions.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The old saying, “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,” definitely applies to my journey. Completing my doctorate was a true test of patience and perseverance. There were countless late nights spent writing and researching after long workdays. Balancing my studies, career, and personal life wasn’t always easy, but it taught me discipline and resilience.
Even now, I still find myself up late—this time refining educational presentations and ensuring I provide meaningful, high-quality content for the clinicians I support. The challenges along the way have shaped not only my work ethic but also my commitment to helping others grow in this field.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Kuna Consulting ?
Kuna Consulting grew out of my passion for supporting and empowering helping professionals. I provide clinical supervision, continuing education trainings, consultation, and professional development experiences for social workers, counselors, marriage and family therapists, and addiction professionals. My focus is on helping clinicians grow in ways that are meaningful, practical, and impactful.
What makes my work different is how I approach it through my triangle of Soul, Strategy, and Relevance. Soul is about bringing heart, authenticity, and empathy into every training. Strategy ensures that what I create is intentional, actionable, and actually makes a difference in day-to-day practice. Relevance means everything I offer is grounded in current research, ethics, and the realities clinicians face today—so it’s immediately useful.
I’m most proud that my brand reflects the essence of social work itself: advocacy, education, and empowerment. I don’t just provide trainings—I create experiences that help clinicians show up fully for themselves and the communities they serve. For me, Kuna Consulting is about growth with purpose, combining heart, intention, and impact in every interaction.
What’s next?
Looking ahead, I’m excited about expanding my work through presenting at conferences. These opportunities allow me to reach more clinicians, share strategies that can make a real difference in practice, and connect with other professionals in the field.
Since most of my work is already virtual, I’m focused on enhancing and expanding these online learning experiences—creating even more engaging, interactive trainings that are accessible to clinicians regardless of location. My goal is to continue empowering helping professionals to practice with confidence, cultural humility, and ethical integrity, while making high-quality professional development widely available.
