Today we’d like to introduce you to Yovanna Madhere.
Hi Yovanna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a first-generation Afro-Latina American raised in the 80s. My goals and dreams always involved talking (a lot) and helping people. After enduring and healing from some major life traumas and heartaches, I am fully living out those goals and dreams as a clinical social worker, public speaker, confidence coach, author, and CEO/Visionary of Coach YovannaRocks. As a coach, I help women become victorious over their limiting beliefs and shrinking mindsets. I guide my clients toward confidence through self-care.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The only smooth part of my journey has been peanut butter, but every hurdle, obstacle, and pain point has made me the rockin’ badass that I am. I’ve been through violent traumas, addiction, housing insecurity, and partner abuse. I lost my Mother when I was just 24 with two babies under two. I have a disabled child. I KNOW struggle. But, I also know redemption and the power of holding on to your values and vision for your life and striving hard to live an “on purpose” life.
As you know, we’re big fans of Coach YovannaRocks. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Coach YovannaRocks is a personal development company based in Atlanta, GA that serves clients globally. My services include coaching, public speaking, writing, and corporate diversity & inclusion consultations. My coaching program is geared toward high-achieving women from all backgrounds who want to gain clarity, confidence, and a sense of victory in their personal lives. The service I am most known for is my empowerment speaking- I have spoken at over 10 venues including conferences, panels, private workshops, and summits since the beginning of the year, and have many more to come. What sets me apart from other coaches is that I am a mental health therapist, so I am trained in how to help and heal clients with what they need; I am also compassionate but have a “do or do not” attitude. What I am most proud of is the platform and reach I have accessed so far this year: my clients are thriving, my referrals are growing, and on April 28, I will be presenting my research to Yale University’s Women’s Mental Health Conference!
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
To me RISK means “Reach Inside; Seek Knowledge”. The risks I have taken in my professional life have all been in alignment with my goals and vision for my life, so I believe that risks should be calculated. The most major risk I have taken is going for what is mine to do- and that’s a risk I step into bravely daily. Another risk was writing my 5-star rated book “The Many Gems in Your Crown: 7 Ways to Shine Brighter”. I didn’t plan on writing this kind of book at this point in my career, but readers are happy that I did! All the people who have read it say that it transformed their life – to me THAT was a risk worth taking!
