Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrice Valentine.
Hi Patrice, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My entire professional career has been based in sales. Since 2017 I was employed as a business manager for a major retailer. In doing so, I realized that I naturally had the ability to make sales and motivate a team to make sales to the tune of $1.3 million. At the time we were severely understaffed as the retailer was doing some drastic downsizing. We still hit our numbers, essentially saving my job and other’s jobs as well.
I continued to progress and ended up managing two businesses, one of them being Beauty, valued at over $3.7 million combined. Covid and a newborn were the only reasons I needed to take my talents to the house! I understood that there were so many new entrepreneurs who had wonderful websites and spent so much on advertising and marketing, yet they weren’t making the sales they needed to justify staying in business. I saw the need and saw that I could fill it and that’s how SalesBAE® was born. A sales-centric brand building company focused on assisting entrepreneurs and businesses achieve the sales results they need.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This road has NOT been an easy one. I started SalesBAE® back in 2018 by divine direction. It wasn’t something I would have thought to do nor was I totally invested in because I’m also a GA Licensed Esthetician and oftentimes I would rather be working with skin. However, so many people come to me for exactly what it is I offer through SalesBAE®. We were living with my mom when I incorporated SalesBAE®, my significant other and our children. Soon after we moved, got engaged, I became pregnant with our youngest daughter all while I was still working at the major retailer. My pregnancy was high-risk and Nia was threatening to come early. I was placed on bed rest and couldn’t do much so I focused on SalesBAE®. My emotions were all over the place and so was my brand. By 2020 things really started looking more clearly and I could really build my brand the way I needed to, then I had surgery… I literally felt like every time I got a great start some randomly huge roadblock would pop up and I would have to slow down any momentum. Finally I realized that there will always be adversity but I was far greater than my circumstances! These days, I just push through. I’ve since realized that I can combine both my love for beauty and my love for business together to help others. With that being said, SalesBAE® has niched down to assisting Beauty Professionals turn their skills into flourishing brands!
We’ve been impressed with SalesBAE®, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
SalesBAE® is a Sales-Centric branding company with a passion for assisting Beauty Professionals turn their skills into profitable brands through trending industry sales, marketing and operations strategies and implementation. We offer services from social selling to funnels and automation. I’m super proud of the micro tribe we have amassed! They lean on my every word and implement many of the tips and ideas I freely give them. They offer great feedback and are able to immediately see results in their businesses after we partner together. Currently, we are looking to bring partners aboard to flesh out our entire business model and are open to collaborations for outsourcing.
What matters most to you?
Family, I’m really big on family because my home was pretty broken growing up. My parents divorce by the time I was five and it really was a traumatic experience that has affected me even into adulthood. I never want my children to experience what it feels like to be a child of divorced parents. I’m not looking down on divorce. Sometimes it’s necessary, however I think it’s important that people conduct themselves in a manner that acknowledges how their behavior or absences affects their children.
We celebrate our small wins and support each other to make bigger wins! The success of our little tribe is important to both me and my fiancé, so we’re taking the necessary steps now to give them a more lucrative future.
