Inspiring Conversations with Alexa Clarke of Renewed salon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexa Clarke.

Hi Alexa , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I found my passion for the Hair industry at a young age of 16. I started Cosmetology School at the age of 17 right out of high school. I was working full-time in the salon by 18, and fell in love with my job. A couple years after working for a company I decided it was time to work for myself.

I started working in a salon suite. I had a dream at an early age that one day I would own an old house and turn it into a hair salon . I wanted to create an inviting environment for my staff and my amazing clients. It took over 10 years of hard work, dedication, long hours, and prayer .

January of 2022 my husband and I decided it was time to fulfill this dream. We purchased an old house that was built in the 1900’s and completely renovated it. We will be open for four years this coming June!

It was not an easy journey, and I definitely started small and gradually built my way up to where I am now, but I am so thankful for God‘s faithfulness and goodness.

Always remember to lean in to what you have a passion for , and not give up when things get hard or doors get closed.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No.

We tried to purchase two properties in prior years leading up to where we are now. Many doors were closed and I had so much frustration. We even leased a property that was supposed to turn into an ownership opportunity and completely lost that due to lack on contract clarification .

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Renewed salon ?
We are a hair salon in a small town called Jefferson Georgia. We offer a multitude of services. We offer color and cut, hair extensions, spray, tans, waxing, and hopefully in the near future head spa services.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t necessarily know if I would call it luck, but more perseverance.
