Inspiring Conversations with Alexis Brown of Lexipureskin Aesthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Brown

Hi Alexis, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Sure. My name is Alexis Brown. I am a licensed facialist who specializes in acne, multicultural skin, and age management. I am the owner of my own aesthetics practice, Lexi Pureskin Aesthetics here in Atlanta GA. I am passionate about educating others on all things skin. I find joy in helping clients find a solution to their skin issues and being a resource to improve their quality of life.
But my true journey into entrepreneurship began in 2019, when I created my own skin care line at 16 years old. I spontaneously created two facial scrubs in my kitchen and decided to sell them to my classmates. The feedback I received was nothing short of amazing. I went on creating my business name, Lexi Pure Skin. I expanded my product line, got great client results, and received a business scholarship. I knew I found my life’s purpose, so I decided to go to aesthetics school after I graduated high school. After becoming a licensed esthetician I decided to specialize in facials. I became a certified Acne expert by face reality skin care and became certified in treating multicultural skin by Michele Obama’s former esthetician, Joelle Lee.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being a young entrepreneur is rewarding but it does come with its challenges. Before opening my own practice, I worked as an employee at a chain spa. I was successful in this role, as I was the top esthetician, but I began to experience burnout and felt limited to what I was providing my clients with. My time there came to an end and the opportunity to open my own practice arose. This burnout experience taught me how important it is to put myself first. I also learned that you cannot pour from an empty cup, no matter how passionate you are about your work. When I decided to open my own practice in January 2024, I had to not only take a leap of faith, but I had to fight through my own mental hurdles that would have held me back from being as successful as I am meant to be.

Six months into opening my practice I would temporarily set up for my facial services and break down at the end of each service. I did this to build my clientele back up, this was challenging but I stayed focused on my ultimate goal. I put my head down and focused on my skill set and clients , 6 months later I was able to move into my permanent suite.

Fast forward to now, Lexi Pureskin Aesthetics has hit 1 year of business this year and I have now been a licensed professional for two years. The journey has taught me how to be adaptable, resilient, and open minded. I have over 30 5 star reviews on google and have been able to foster great connections and produce great results for my clients.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What sets Lexi Pureskin Aesthetics apart from others is that we pride ourselves on offering a personable client experience from the moment you walk into our doors. We believe learning our clients as a whole is important to successfully getting you to your skin care goals. We value face to face consultations, and offering a warm environment that allows our clients to feel safe in expressing their skincare concerns.

We do not believe in a one size fits all approach, we customize each treatment plan to suit the unique needs and concerns of each client. From our customized facials, to chemical peels, expect to be given a plan that is specifically made for you.

We are proud of creating a consistent client experience that not only makes our current clients happy but gives potential clients the confidence to seek out our practice for their skin care needs.

What makes you happy?
What makes me the happiest about being a business owner is my freedom. When I say freedom, I mean more than being able to create my own schedule. The freedom of being able to offer my clients the best products, services , and client experience is what makes me happy. The freedom of not being limited in the attention to detail I pay my clients, and the freedom of how I customize each of my clients skin care journey. I enjoy being able to be creative in the treatment room, from cock tailing products, services, and home care routines. This freedom has allowed me to help my clients confidence, allow my clients to look in the mirror again, and overall improve their quality of life. I have been able to help my clients show up as their ideal self, and that makes the journey of entrepreneurship worth it.
