Hi Anuj, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My name is Anuj Thakkar, born in Greenwich, CT on December 10th, 1991. Was sent off to India where my family is from about 3 months after I was born and was raised there for about 2 years before I came back to be raised in New Jersey until I was about 7 years old.
From there my father decided to move us to GA where he started his first business and grew from there. I grew up with one younger brother about 7 years younger than me. Currently, I enjoy playing golf, working out, traveling, and making memories with friends and family. I live in a beautiful home in Buckhead, Atlanta, GA with my fiancé, Petra, and two amazing dogs. Lenny (Frenchie) and Luna (Australian Shepherd Mix). I grew up most of my life in Dacula, GA out in Gwinnett County about 45 min away from the city of Atlanta.
Went to Dacula Elementary, Middle, and High School. Went to Valdosta State University where I graduated with a degree in Business and Communication in 2014. From there I started my first job in 2015 with a Pharmaceutical Equipment and facility Manufacturing company, Fabtech Technologies Ltd, out of India where I started learning the skills of Sales and Marketing to help this company grow in the USA market but also how to start a business overall….
This company helped me understand “the real world” and what it takes to make it. I worked from home so I would spend time helping my father with this company. He owns a chain of convenience stores and has 1 carwash. I helped him in the carwash side of the business when I was not traveling and learned more about the carwash industry.
Once I left that company, I went into software sales in Atlanta to learn more about the corporate sales world. Pretty much wanted to learn more about what everyone else was doing and wanted to go out and live in the city on my own. This happened in 2015. I spent about 4 years in sales before I left.
During that time I started a clothing brand in 2018, Legend Apparel Company, and this started my TRUE entry into the entrepreneurship world. This company is where it all started…. Today I own a chain of 5 carwashes, with multiple in the works, a clothing brand (on hold), a commercial property development company, and a capital company specializing in capital raise/strategic advisory as consultants/affiliates in many different verticals…
