Hi April, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It all started with my weight loss journey. I have currently lost 135 lbs, and I wanted to inspire, encourage, and help other women. I also had a desire to work for myself; that desire created within me a drive, and that drive gave birth to several businesses. Multiple streams of income.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This road has not been easy for a number of reasons. One is growing my businesses, You can have one good idea or several good ideas, but if people don’t see your vision with you then it is just an idea. We would like to tell ourselves that we don’t need anyone else to believe in us, but that is so untrue. The only way we are going to generate revenue is if people see our vision also. We make believers out of people that doubt us. That takes determination, consistency, self-motivation, and hard work.
As you know, we’re big fans of Bodied By Whoosah. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Our business caters to the working mother, the woman struggling to get or keep her figure, the man who needs to lose that stomach or the person that just wants to relax. Bodied By Whoosah helps each individual get started on a healthy lifestyle. We do detoxing body contouring and pain therapy. Our foot detox helps with inflammation, muscle aches, and joint pains. It helps detox the body and rids it of toxins and impurities. We have a sauna room that helps with inch-loss (burns up to 700 or more calories a session), detoxing, and circulations. It also helps with sore achy muscles and joints. We want people to be healthy and with less pain through natural methods. We sympathize, we understand, and we want to aid in your health. Our body contouring room is for those that want to tighten, tone, reduce cellulite or firm troubled areas. We do everything from Brazilian butt lifts to lymphatic massage therapy. Our most prized possession is our vibration machine that helps with circulation and moving toxins out of the body. Our vibration plates send high-speed vibrations through all of the muscles in the body. This stimulation forces your muscles to contract and relax between 30-50 times a second. No amount of squats can do that! We want all clients to know our goal is to take care of you. You tell us what you need, and we will see where we can adjust to help you. I also have my very own scrub line for healthcare workers. I actually have several businesses, and one is being birthed as we speak. Such a blessing to be a business owner.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I am from Lagrange, GA right below Atlanta, but have moved to the Talladega, Al area. I also do ASL (American Sign Language) and was needed in this area due to the high number of deaf here.
I love feeling empowered. There is nothing like feeling accomplished when you make things happen, but you must also realize the success or the downfall is also on you. If you are lazy with your business, then your profit will reflect that. If you grind hard; the growth of your business will also reflect that.
