Hi Brenda, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am Brenda Solis, the proud owner of Solis Insurance Agency. My journey in the insurance industry began at the age of 18 as a customer service representative. During this time, I recognized the difficulties Spanish-speaking individuals faced in understanding insurance policies and the critical need for families and businesses to be prepared for unexpected life events.
I would like to share the journey of establishing my insurance agency. The path has been challenging, primarily due to a lack of guidance from peers in the insurance industry. Despite having connections, I did not receive the mentorship or assistance I had hoped for. This experience has mirrored a lifelong pattern of learning through perseverance and self-reliance, which has ultimately strengthened me.
I am immensely proud to have independently navigated the complexities of opening and operating my insurance agency. This achievement allows me to fulfill my mission of assisting families in need by providing them with the most competitive prices.
Having grown up in Georgia, I understand the challenges many families face. Despite personal hardships, including transportation difficulties during high school, I was determined to graduate, driven by my family’s pursuit of a better future after migrating from Mexico when I was eight. I am honored to be the first in my family to graduate from college, holding a degree in Commercial Construction Management. My professional experience spans over 20 years in both the commercial and personal insurance sectors.
Before establishing my agency, I gained valuable experience working as an insurance agent, always aspiring to open my own agency to better serve the community. My core philosophy is to assist clients in obtaining optimal coverage, meticulously explaining the necessity or irrelevance of specific coverages, all while securing the most competitive pricing. For me, every policy I write represents not just paperwork, but the assurance of peace of mind. My mission is dedicated to supporting families and business owners, and fostering enduring relationships within the community I am privileged to serve.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Thank you for asking about my journey. It has certainly been a challenging road for me. From the start, I struggled with the process of opening the business, especially securing office space and navigating the complexities of obtaining contracts with insurers this was not easy at all. There were many moments of overwhelming difficulty for me, and I honestly cryed at times because I didn’t know where to begin or how to open an Insurance Agency, but here I am today over 3 years and I am happy to say that I am still here.
However, through it all, I’ve learned that with enough determination, you can overcome any obstacle.

While we naturally want to retain our clients, our ultimate goal is to ensure they have the best possible coverage.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my Favorite memorys as a child was going to Lenox Park spending time with my Dad, Mom and siblings. We wold go to the park and feed ducks in the pond walk around and just spend quality time together. That is one of my favorite childhood memories to this day I still visit with my own family every now and then, it brings me back good memories.
