Hi Brittany, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I realized the need for marketing and online presence training for minority-owned businesses in 2017. Seeking to solve this problem, I finally began Vision Digital Marketing in 2019. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of working for nonprofits like the Georgia Chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America and minority-owned businesses in Georgia, Virginia and Texas. Many business owners are at capacity when it comes to social media content creation, scheduling and engagement. They’re also unable to send review requests and create text campaigns due to time constraints. So, I created a level of support where Vision Digital can stand in the gap for them and/or V.D.M. can train the business owner on the best platforms to use and the most efficient ways to schedule their own reviews, content and campaigns.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I actually started a totally different business in a different field in 2018. I began refurbishing and creating furniture and decor for homes with my business BB Home Furnishings. I received a lot of love and support but stopped taking orders for custom pieces in 2020 due to an overwhelming need for help. After licking my wounds, I poured the rest of my creative energy into digital content creation. The fluidity of entrepreneurship taught me to be flexible with the reality of how my business is going while planning for different ways to improve the client’s experience and my SOPs. Every negative experience or conflict continues to stretch me to become the CEO I want to be. If I had any advice for someone in my field starting a business, it would be to make sure you have a contract and to make sure the clients understand the work, timeline and expectations. It can save a lot of time and headache.
We’ve been impressed with Vision Digital Marketing LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Vision Digital Marketing is about educating the business owner to empower them. We do not hold the cards while watching fellow business owners struggle. Though we don’t offer services free, you can be sure to get social media, text campaign and review request tips if you follow us on any of our platforms. Even further, when we find business grant opportunities, we share freely as well because a win for one of us is a win for all minority-owned businesses.

How do you think about happiness?
It makes me happy to see a business owner chasing their passion and eventually living their dream. When an entrepreneur can do what they love for a living, I feel so much joy. And it doesn’t make me unhappy when V.D.M. helped a client’s conversion rate go up! The client and Vision continue to pivot until we find the sweet spot for their marketing goals. Getting leads is one thing, but closing those leads and helping the client get in front of the customers they want so they can continue to work in their passion brightens my day.
