Today we’d like to introduce you to Carolyn Maselli
Hi Carolyn, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey in interior design started when I was in my early 20s working for a local Atlanta design designer. After starting my family with three amazing children, I decided to journey out on my own. My husband and I started flipping houses 2001 giving me a great understanding into the process of design and construction. In 2016, I started my independent design business, English living design, since that time, I have continued to do interior design, specializing in renovations, new construction, and soft furnishings, known today as Maselli Interiors which is the exclusive design firm for KJ Luxury Homes.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
An obstacle or challenge would be that of the crash in 2008 when many home renovators were unable to sell their inventory. At that time, we had eight different properties under construction or listed, I’m happy to say that we were able to sell all of our homes without any losses because of the material selections and design that had gone into each home.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Maselli interiors handles all the design selections for each and every home built by KJ Luxury Homes. I enjoy working with the many different clients and incorporating their vision into each home. From the very beginning, we start selecting the exterior finishes to showcase their style. The interior selections reflect the vibe they wish to have in each individual room, everything from flooring, cabinetry colors, countertops, lighting and plumbing fixtures, all play a roll on creating the perfect place for their sanctuary to call home.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Always being drawn towards style, architecture, and beauty. As a young child, I remember helping friends decorate their bedrooms, reflect their personality and personal style.
