Hi Christin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always been interested in the beauty and fashion industry since I was a small child, so my talent and my eye for hair and beauty came somewhat naturally. Shortly after I graduated high school In 2011, I attended hair school at empire beauty school, and I became a licensed cosmetologist in 2012. After I became, I worked in a few commission-based salons and also was a salon manager from 2017-2019. After that, I went into a more booth rental-based salon for about six months and decided to open my own salon studio in February 2020.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest struggle I had was finding my niche because being a hairstylist is so broad. Once I found out what my niche was and branded myself so many opportunities came my way.

I’m a hairstylist specializing in natural hair and the health of your hair. My most popular services are my signature Silkpress, customized hair treatments, custom color and my designer cuts. What I’m most proud of about my business in my growing product line which I will be rebranding and adding to in 2023.
