Inspiring Conversations with Christopher Fletcher and Angelica Finley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Fletcher and Angelica Finley.

Hi Christopher and Angelica, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We met in 2016 while working in the hospitality industry. Realizing we had similar goals and ambitions, we decided to venture into business together. We opened Flavor Rich Food Truck in April 2018. It has been one of the greatest decisions in life thus far. We enjoy serving people amazing food and being able to meet people from different areas while doing food truck events and festivals. With the ongoing success and support of Flavor Rich Food Truck, we decided to expand and open Flavor Rich Restaurant in August 2020 in the middle of a global pandemic. GOD is so amazing and he just keeps elevating us with great support.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not! Our first year with the food truck people in the food truck community would always say that business definitely slows down during the wintertime. We did not really know to what extent but it definitely does. It was rough because we went from working and doing events 5-6 days a week to only about three days a week. Also, our business relies on the truck and its being able to run and function properly and when it doesn’t, we’ve had to cancel events. So that can be very rough because this is how we support ourselves. There have been a few unexpected breakdowns with the food truck including transmission repairs and tire blowouts that have really hurt As it relates to the restaurant, once people realized we had a restaurant and the neighborhoods in Suwannee and Gwinnett County started supporting us and talking about the restaurant things have been pretty good. We still have our slow days, sometimes during the week and on major holidays but nothing to make us throw the towel in for.

All the struggles with both the restaurant and food truck have all been worth it.

We’ve been impressed with Flavor Rich Food Truck and Flavor Rich Restaurant, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our business started in 2018 with a food truck. We later opened a restaurant in August of 2020. We have the best food and service in the Metro Atlanta area. As it relates to the food truck, we are mostly doing catering and festivals right now. We are able to create a menu to cater to your needs.

At the restaurant, we serve breakfast and lunch six days a week. What sets our business apart from others is the passion we have for food and people. We didn’t just start these businesses because it was convenient. We love food and to make people happy with food. I feel like people can taste that in all of our dishes as well.

Our brand growing organically, which is what makes us very proud. It’s no gimmicks. Everything we do to grow our business, we keep our clients and guest in mind. We always want to offer and serve the best quality products and services. We are continuing to expand. Soon there will be more Flavor Rich Restaurant locations. The food truck is very much still moving around the city.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Shadowing and learning from our parents in the kitchen. We both knew that we wanted to be successful business owners. Dreaming about the day and its finally here is amazing.
