Hi Deepti, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My Journey with MH15: A Dream Seasoned with Perseverance

They say every dream starts somewhere.
Mine started with a craving a simple longing for the taste of home.

I’ve always loved vegetarian food. Not just eating it, but feeling it the comfort it brings, the memories it stirs. I missed the crunch of a good vada pav, the spice of misal that hits just right, the warmth that only true Indian vegetarian food can offer. Somewhere deep down, I knew I wanted to create a place where those same feelings came alive – a space that reminded people of home, of flavor, and of love.

That’s how the dream of MH15 Indian Vegetarian Restaurant was born.

I poured everything I had into it – my heart, my savings, and all the lessons life had taught me. I wanted something that was truly mine, built from my own blood and sweat. The plan was set, the excitement was real, and we were finally ready to open our doors.

And then, the world shut down.

COVID hit.

Everything stopped overnight. The timing couldn’t have been worse months of planning, preparation, and hope suddenly stood still. There were days when fear took over, when the uncertainty was too heavy to bear. I remember wondering if MH15 would ever see the light of day, or if it would remain just another dream paused by the pandemic.

But giving up never felt right. If anything, that tough time reminded me why I started — because I believed in what I was creating. So I held on. I waited. I planned again, worked again, and pushed through every challenge that came my way.

When MH15 finally opened, it wasn’t just a restaurant it was proof that perseverance always wins. The sight of customers enjoying our food, the laughter echoing through the space, and even the quiet moments of gratitude all of it made the struggle worth it.

Over time, MH15 became a beloved spot home to many, comfort to countless, and even a favorite among celebrities. But to me, every guest, every plate served, every smile shared means the same it’s a reminder of how far we’ve come.

Today, when I look at MH15, I see more than a business. I see my journey the late nights, the fears, the hopes, the endless hard work, and the unshakable belief that something built with love and honesty will always find its place in the world.

We are and will always be proudly vegetarian, proudly from the heart.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smoother roads make seldom stories

The biggest challenge came after we opened was COVID-19. Everything we had planned for months suddenly came to a stop. Rent, bills, staff, supplies everything was uncertain, but the dream had to stay alive. Managing that balance between hope and practicality was one of the hardest parts.

Then came the reality of running a restaurant long hours, unpredictable rushes, and the constant effort to maintain quality and consistency. I learned that in the food business, you can’t take shortcuts. Every dish, every customer interaction, every detail matters.

Another challenge was building a team that shared the same passion. Good food comes from good energy in the kitchen, and finding people who cared about MH15 the way I did took time, patience, and trust.

Slowly Brick by Brick i built this place, nurturing it like my own kid.

Running a restaurant taught me that success isn’t about never facing challenges it’s about showing up every day, even when things get tough, and believing in what you’ve built.

How do you think about luck?
Luck plays a part, but it’s rarely the main ingredient. Luck only favors hardwork.

There are moments when timing, external events, or chance encounters can give your business a boost like meeting the right supplier, a celebrity visiting your restaurant, or the world slowly reopening after COVID. These instances can feel like luck.

But luck alone never builds a business. What turns those “lucky” moments into success is preparation, hard work, and perseverance. For MH15, we faced major challenges planning to open just as COVID hit, navigating uncertainty, building a loyal team, and maintaining quality all of which required grit, not luck.

In essence: luck can open a door, but your effort decides whether you walk through it and thrive on the other side.
