Inspiring Conversations with Denia Durden of Salon Nia Sade’ Beauty and Hair Loss

Today we’d like to introduce you to Denia Durden.

Denia Durden

Hi Denia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I fell in love with hair at just 7 years old, starting with braiding. After high school, I entered cosmetology school, but I always felt there was something deeper I needed to understand, especially after my sister experienced hair loss following her Lupus diagnosis. While building my clientele, I continued to witness women struggling with hair loss and scalp conditions, which pushed me to seek more knowledge.

In 2019, I enrolled in the Functional Trichology program with The American Academy of Hair and Scalp Diseases so I could support my clients beyond styling and truly address the root causes of their concerns. The following year, in 2020, I opened Salon Nia Sadé Beauty & Hair Loss, a safe space where women receive personalized services and also feel comfortable sharing what they’re going through internally, so I can help connect those internal imbalances with what’s showing up externally on their scalp.

In 2024, I expanded my mission by launching the Nia Sadé Beauty hair care line, designed to give women high-quality products they can trust to care for their hair at home, all backed by professional expertise.

Today, I’m still in awe that the passion I discovered at 7 years old has grown into a calling—helping women live healthier, more confident lives through beauty.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Of course not. I believe the biggest struggle any entrepreneur faces is learning to trust the vision–even when you, or no one else, can clearly see the ending. To me, entrepreneurship is one of the greatest tests of faith you can experience. One of the biggest struggles for me was deciding if I was going to go with what my heart felt or take the path that my parents wanted me to take. I believe that as long as you keep God first the struggles will happen, but you will make it through them.

I also think another struggle is staying committed and disciplined even when the fruit doesn’t match your labor while you’re building. Staying committed to the goal and seeing it through.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I am a Master Cosmetologist and Certified Functional Trichologist dedicated to helping women restore both their hair and their confidence. In addition to providing natural hair care services, I partner with my clients on a deeper level by exploring lifestyle habits, health history, and daily routines, etc. to uncover the root causes of hair loss and scalp concerns. I believe lasting change begins with mindset and continues through intentional habits.

What sets me apart is my commitment to excellence: creating a safe, welcoming space where every client feels seen and cared for, while continually educating myself to provide the highest level of service.

I’m proud to be building a brand that my 7-year-old self would be proud of, a brand rooted in purpose.

My mission is to inspire women not only through hairstyling, but also through health, encouraging them to transform their lives in the way they think, eat, and move.

If you are a woman who is experiencing hair loss, feel free to book at complimentary 15 mins discovery call with me.

Any big plans?
I am looking forward to growing my brand and helping more women with hair loss and scalp maladies.
