Inspiring Conversations with Desny Symone of Glowmotion Inc

Today we’d like to introduce you to Desny Symone.

Hi Desny, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I learned early on in life what I did not want my life to be. I grew up surrounded by chaos, verbal and physical abuse, poverty, fear, and the kind of responsibility that forces a child to become an adult long before they’re ready. I didn’t get to just be a kid, I had to step up as a parent, a protector, and a provider before I ever had the chance to understand what childhood really meant. Survival shaped me young, and even now I’m learning how to release survival so I can thrive.
Losing my mom at 22 changed everything for me. It pushed me into an identity crisis; needing guidance, belonging, and protection that I no longer had access to. In that vulnerable place, I searched for comfort in the wrong places and people, and I learned hard lessons about isolation, heartbreak, and disappointment. But even at my lowest, I always had one reason to keep going; I knew people needed me, but most importantly, I needed me. I couldn’t give up on myself.
My journey led me to entrepreneurship and my purpose. From building BoozeMovez to founding Glowmotion, I’ve learned that growth doesn’t mean pretending pain never happened, it means glowing through what you go through and becoming the version of yourself you never imagined. Everything I create now has one mission: community, healing, empowerment, and showing women that it’s possible to bloom even after the fire.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been learning how to navigate life without the guidance and safety of my mom. Losing her at 22 left me to figure out adulthood, identity, healing, and purpose on my own. That void made me crave connection and comfort so deeply that I sometimes opened up to the wrong people, which led to heartbreak, disappointment, and setbacks that delayed my growth.
Another challenge has been unlearning survival mode. When you grow up in trauma (abuse, poverty, instability) survival becomes your default. It helped me stay strong as a child, but it made it hard to receive support, rest, or love as an adult. I had to learn that being strong doesn’t mean suffering quietly and that independence doesn’t mean isolation.
Entrepreneurship added its own lessons, like balancing responsibilities, funding my dreams, learning through trial and error, and building a brand while still healing personally. But every obstacle taught me something important about myself: I don’t quit. No matter how “hard” life gets, I always find a way to stand back up. The challenges didn’t break me, they built me.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Glowmotion is a feminine wellness and empowerment hub dedicated to helping women glow through what they go through. Our mission is to provide safe spaces, healing experiences, and community for women who are ready to release survival, rediscover themselves, and step into their power. Glowmotion focuses on wholeness: emotional wellness, self- awareness, confidence, inner peace, and feminine restoration.
We offer services, coaching, experiences, and curated Glow Packs that support healing and self-care. What sets Glowmotion apart is that it was born from real wounds, not a perfect life. It’s not about pretending pain never happened; it’s about learning how to bloom anyway. Our brand is raw and transparent by design. The nude imagery in our visuals are symbolic, not sexual. It represents releasing expectations, shame, and emotional weight, and returning home to the true self.
Glowmotion is for the woman who gives everything to everyone but has finally decided to pour into herself. It’s for the woman who looks strong on the outside but needs a place to soften without judgement. It’s for the woman who knows she deserves more love, peace, support, confidence, and wholeness. My greatest pride is seeing women step into who they were always meant to be and watching them glow from the inside out.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something surprising about me is that even though I am the “strong friend,” and the person people come to for healing, confidence, and encouragement, I’m actually extremely shy and sensitive. I pour into others so naturally, but receiving support has always been harder for me. I’ve had to learn that softness doesn’t make me weak, it makes me human.
Most people see the confidence, the empowerment branding, the leadership, and the joy assuming that I always feel that way. But that glow came from a lot of internal work. I used to shrink myself, question my worth, and feel like I had to earn love by being useful. What people don’t know is that Glowmotion isn’t just something I created, it’s something that healed me too.
