Today we’d like to introduce you to Dustin Towery.
Dustin , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Dustin Towery, 37, Founder of Towery Construction
Born and raised in Sumter, South Carolina, I found myself dropped off in Georgia in 2021 with nothing but faith and a deep well of construction experience. That season of uncertainty became the foundation for something extraordinary. I met my wife, Alexandria Towery, and soon after landed a job at Lowe’s, where I put my skills to work and began rebuilding my life.
While working at Lowe’s, God placed a calling on our hearts—to build something of our own. In 2023, Alexandria and I stepped out in faith, giving up everything to launch Towery Construction. Her sharp business mind and my hands-on construction background have been the perfect match. Together, we’ve built more than a company—we’ve built a legacy rooted in grit, grace, and purpose.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all—it’s been anything but a smooth road. In construction, especially in the kind of work we do at Towery Construction, challenges are part of the landscape. But there was one project in particular that tested everything we had: a HUD job that nearly took us under.
We were deep into the build, and everything that could go wrong seemed to hit us all at once—delays, budget constraints, regulatory hurdles. It felt like we were standing in the middle of a storm with no shelter. There were moments when we genuinely questioned whether we’d make it through. But we held on. We leaned into our faith, trusted the process, and kept showing up.
By God’s grace, we didn’t just survive that project—we came out stronger. It forced us to tighten our operations, communicate better, and lean on each other in ways we hadn’t before. That experience reshaped our team and our company. It reminded us that resilience isn’t built in comfort—it’s forged in adversity. And now, every time we take on a new job, we carry that strength with us.
That HUD project could’ve been the end. Instead, it became a turning point.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Towery Construction?

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Owning a construction company in Rome, Georgia is a journey filled with both opportunity and challenge. What I love most about this city is its strong sense of community—people here genuinely care, support local businesses, and value relationships. That kind of environment is a blessing for a company like ours, built on trust and word-of-mouth. Rome is also growing, which means steady demand for quality construction, and the city’s natural beauty and historic charm make every project feel meaningful. But it’s not without its struggles. The labor pool can be limited, making it tough to find skilled tradespeople locally. We often have to train new talent or bring in help from outside, which adds time and cost. Navigating local regulations and permitting processes can also be slow and outdated, creating delays that impact our timelines. And Georgia’s unpredictable weather doesn’t help—rain and humidity can throw a wrench into even the best-laid plans.
Still, there are real advantages to building here. Operating costs are lower than in bigger cities, and once you prove yourself, the community stands behind you. There’s also room to innovate—Rome isn’t oversaturated, so fresh ideas and high standards stand out. On the flip side, the market is smaller, which means fewer high-budget projects, and the local economy can be sensitive to shifts, affecting construction demand. Visibility beyond Rome’s borders takes extra effort, too. But despite the challenges, Rome is home. It’s where our company was born, where our faith was tested, and where we’re building something lasting—one project at a time.
