Today we’d like to introduce you to Glynis and Scott Callaway.
Hi Glynis and Scott, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After 30+ years in the corporate world, taking an early retirement and purchasing Koury Farms seemed like the best way to spend the rest of our working careers!! Additionally, we are now able to incorporate our family working at the farm and we have something to share, not only with our family but with everyone that steps foot on the property. Our hope to pass on Koury Farms to generations to come!!
Going back a little further, we have been married for 35 years. We have two children, Kenneth and Kristen, a daughter in love, Brook, two grandchildren, Willow and Lucy, and 1 fur baby, a very active miniature dachshund named Cinnamon.
We have lived in the Atlanta area for most of our married life (Glynis since the 70s) and love the state of Georgia and all that it has to offer.
Glynis planned an event at Koury Farms shortly after it opened. She told the then-owner, George, that when he was ready to sell, to let her know. Well, several years later, that call came in. When Scott went to the property for the first time, he saw all that Glynis had fell in love with all those years ago!! What’s not to love?? Wooded property, a vineyard, gorgeous white villas, and feeling so peaceful as soon as you step on the property.
We love to share our property with couples and help them while they plan their most special day!!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Of course not!! Does anyone have a smooth road?? That said, our faith is strong, and we know that every struggle has a purpose. Our faith will always be stronger than our fear!!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We specialize in weddings though we do offer other events such as anniversary parties, corporate events, quinceaneras, and other events.
Our farm is styled after the French countryside. You will find many details as you walk around that will inspire you to create the event of a lifetime. From our numerous photo spots to the sweeping vineyards out back, there is so much to love about Koury Farms Weddings & Events!! We offer our clients 3 table choices, beautiful cross back chairs, and a fully loaded decor closet!!
Our belief is that once you are on the property, you are family!! While it may sound cliche, we truly operate under the “treat others as you would want to be treated” philosophy.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
This is a great question. As far as our business, success is at the end of a wedding or event when the couple or client gives us a great big hug before departing!! Many of our clients still keep in touch with us, which we love!!
As far as personal success is being married to our best friend for the last 35 years!!
