Inspiring Conversations with Grace Timothy of The Style Warehouse Salon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Grace Timothy.

Hi Grace, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Right after cosmetology school, I started out working at a salon as a shampoo assistant. After working there for a couple of months, I decided to leave and began to travel as a hair stylist to service my clients. Even though I loved servicing my clients, I knew very quickly that traveling was not for me! So I decided to go back into a salon. I went to work in two different salons at two different times back to back when God gave me a vision to start my on salon. I was too scared to open a salon though because I felt like I wasn’t ready but God kept pushing me! So I decided that instead, I was going to follow my own heart instead of listening to God (big mistake!) and open a salon suite. I worked in my suite for almost three years and there I began to grow my business and my business really took off. However, I knew that that was not what God told me to do. It wasn’t until I was literally forced out of my salon suite when I realized that for those past three years I had settled on what I thought was a good decision instead of following God. So I put my hands up and literally told God, “You got it! I’ll do what you told me to do!” and the rest was history. Two months later in 2018, I opened my salon, The Style Warehouse Salon, and I have been here ever since still growing and blossoming!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t! My biggest struggle without hesitation is me being in my own way! One thing that I have learned and is continuing to learn is I am way greater and talented than I choose to believe. Over the years I have found that the self-sabotage that I put myself through is literally the only thing that is holding me back from reaching my greater potential! I feel like, and I know wholeheartedly, that once I accomplish that, my road will definitely be a whole lot smoother!

As you know, we’re big fans of The Style Warehouse Salon. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a (DOPE) salon that specializes in healthy hair care! Whether you are getting serviced from me or any of my other hair stylists I can promise you that we take pride in what we do. We pride ourselves in not only making you look good but also helping you maintain a healthy hair lifestyle both in and outside of the salon! I think the biggest thing that sets us apart from others is that we genuinely care about our clients. Our specialties range from Silk Press and Natural Hair Care, Braids, Locs, Sew Ins, Tape Ins and other Weave Services, and Hair Color!

The thing that I am most proud of about The Style Warehouse Salon is whether you come in for a service or simply to ask for a business card, you are meant with a positive attitude and you feel better about yourself always. I love to think of it like us being your personal cheerleaders or your strong support system that you didn’t realize you had or needed!

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Being a genuine person. I feel like no matter how good or bad you did a service if you genuinely show that you care about what you do people will always come back and/or remember you in that positive light.
