Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacquelyn Patrick.
Hi Jacquelyn , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I launched my business in August 2023, shortly after graduating with a 4.0 GPA and ranking third in my class. On the outside, I appeared to have everything together, but inside I was carrying the weight of pressure and grief after losing my close friend, Zniyah, who had just begun her own hair business. Instead of allowing that pain to pull me into survival mode, I chose passion, faith, and purpose.
Through EAZ, I want to show others in my community that there’s a better way than constant survival — that success can come from alignment, creativity, and emotional wellness. My goal is to help people release those “fight-or-flight” habits that many of us were raised with, and replace them with confidence, peace, and passion-driven action.
As my business grows, I plan to expand beyond beauty into coaching and mentorship, helping others like me rebuild their mindset, develop their gifts, and create genuine success that starts from within. I believe that when we think and feel better, we create better — and that’s the kind of transformation I want to lead by example.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Challenges and obstacles are what made the journey real. Building EAZ wasn’t just about starting a business; it was about breaking cycles I grew up around. Like many in my community, I came from an environment where survival often felt like the only option — where you’re taught to work hard, not rest; to endure, not heal; to dream, but not too big.
When I started my business, I faced the same challenges many young entrepreneurs face: limited resources, inconsistent support, and the mental pressure of having to “figure it all out” alone. There were moments when sales were slow, bills were due, and doubt tried to take over. But instead of folding, I learned to keep moving through faith, discipline, and grace.
Losing my close friend, Zniyah, right before I launched was another heavy test. It forced me to see how precious time is — and how easily our dreams can go unrealized if we let fear or pain stop us. That’s why I’ve made it my mission to help others push past that same survival mentality.
Every obstacle — from financial setbacks to self-doubt — taught me that the real success story isn’t in the outcome, it’s in the transformation. I want people who look like me to know that healing, passion, and purpose can coexist with entrepreneurship. You don’t have to burn yourself out to make it. You can build a life that feels as good as it looks.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business, EAZ Luxe, was built to empower women through beauty, confidence, and education. We specialize in high-quality raw and virgin hair extensions, digital resources for new beauty entrepreneurs, and soon, coaching and mentorship for personal and business development. What began as a hair brand has grown into a movement — one that helps women look good, feel good, and build something real for themselves.
What sets EAZ Luxe apart is our commitment to authenticity and integrity. We don’t just sell hair; we educate our customers about product quality, maintenance, and business ownership. I include tested vendors, packaging resources, and real insights from my own experience so others can start their own journey without feeling lost or misled.
I’m most proud of the transformation my brand represents — not just in appearance, but in mindset. EAZ stands for more than ease of beauty; it honors the legacy of my late friend, Zniyah, and symbolizes the emotional freedom I want to bring to women who have lived in survival mode for too long.
At EAZ Luxe, we’re blending beauty, education, and empowerment. Our goal is to help women not only wear luxury — but live it. From our raw hair collections to our digital guides and upcoming mentorship programs, everything we offer is designed to inspire faith, self-worth, and the belief that your passion can fund your purpose.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Most people see my brand and assume I’ve always been confident, put-together, and business-minded — but what many don’t know is that I started EAZ Luxe during one of the lowest points in my life. I was grieving, questioning my purpose, and fighting the same self-doubt that holds so many people in my community back.
What’s surprising is that I didn’t build this brand from having it all figured out — I built it from a place of healing. Every system, design, and product I’ve created came from teaching myself how to find peace, passion, and purpose again.
People often think EAZ Luxe is just about beauty, but at its core, it’s a story of transformation. I’m not just helping women look good; I’m helping them feel safe, seen, and capable again — because I know exactly what it’s like to feel lost and still choose faith anyway.
