Inspiring Conversations with Jalisa Clark of D’Vine Cultivation

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jalisa Clark.

Hi Jalisa, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m from Mobile Alabama. Graduate from Alabama state university. After that, I attended cosmetology school and I’ve been a licensed natural hairstylist for six years now. I started doing hair in my apartment and now I’m a master Loctician and salon owner in Montgomery Alabama. I also am I loc jewelry cultivator. I do have clients from various locations and I’m also a traveling stylist.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, the road was not easy. I was actually diagnosed with my first chronic illness at eight years old. Autoimmune hepatitis is when the immune system attacks the liver. 20 years later I was diagnosed with lupus nephritis. The year I was diagnosed with lupus was the year I opened my salon.

We’ve been impressed with D’Vine Cultivation, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
D’Vine Cultivation mission is to cultivate the divine crown. I provide all services for locs. Starter locs, loc retwist, loc grooming, loc repairs, reattachments, instant Locs, loc extensions, create locs, and loc jewelry designer.

What are your plans for the future?
My plans for the future are to educate about locs, open a second location, and more!
