Inspiring Conversations with Jasmine J.R. Tilman of Infinite Marketing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine J.R. Tilman.

Jasmine J.R., we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started off writing when I was a child. I like to tell this short story of how I was in first grade and my teacher asked us to write a sentence and I wrote an entire paragraph which left her and my mother stunned because I could barely write. I wrote on and off through my childhood age (16-19) only because I wanted to fit in with the “Jones”. Through the years I went through the trials and tribulations of becoming the woman I am and discovering who God created me to be. I worked plenty of jobs but I always felt like I wasn’t getting my worth because the job always wanted me to become a manager of the company but I knew I didn’t want to make a commitment to just any job because I wanted to start my own business. Writing books to shift into movies and helping young adults has always been the goal. I just never knew the fields of work I wanted to be In. Which is a Life Purpose coach, and the self-published author I am today. I found that if I strived to complete any goal I set for myself it can be done. For example in high school I worked a job Monday through Friday and did not have a car, my mother worked every single day so I had to find a way to school and work. My stepdad gave me a ride to school most of the time but I used to walk to work every day. I did not know how to drive and I worked making $8.10 at McDonald’s for three years straight and a few months after graduating.

I saved up to buy a car but I did not know how to drive one bit. I cried and got depressed plenty of times thinking I didn’t know-how. But I eventually learned because the one thing I did was never give up. And that is with everything that I do. So every time I stress about something not going my way because it never does I think about my future knowing that it always works out in my favor. I wrote a journal for young women to thrive relating to my story because I wanted to be that older person to these women that I did not have. Get a grip will ya’ You Matter is a self-help women empowerment journal for women to learn from through another person’s eyes. We have to all stick together with no judgment in order to thrive in a community. I went through life on auto pilot not feeling like I was worthy enough of the things I truly deserve. My main goal is to teach both men and women young and old that you can do whatever you put your mind to whenever you put your mind to it. You just have to want it bad enough so I am looking to LAUNCH my enterprise which is going to feature Life coaching services, a publishing company and a speaking agency.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road for me. I can say I have went through plenty of roadblocks with not getting my way any of the times I went for something but it always worked out in my favor. I like to think that God’s plan worked out for me which was the better option. I worked jobs and quit just because I knew the way they treated me was not in my best interest. I house hopped for two years while writing my first book out of my five books series Incursion thin lines between love and war due to personal family reasons. I suffered through really bad anxiety hanging on to bad relationships and trying to please everyone but myself. Working a job to get a car fixed back to back while trying to maintain going to business school for my business and management design certification was hard. Once I got hit by a forklift at one of my jobs and they threw me to the wolves I decided to never work for someone again. Which added to the drive I have today.

We’ve been impressed with Infinite Marketing, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am an account executive working to raise donations for an organization by the name of Care and helping out families, and teenagers to thrive in the community. I’m looking to open my own office in the next 6-12 months then launch my Enterprise which features a various amount of ventures. This includes my Life coaching services, Publishing company and speaking agency. I am most proud of my women empowerment journal Get a Grip will ya’ You Matter which can be found on my website www.jrtilman.com. You can go to this website subscribing and discover the journal also to keep up with everything that is coming out such as my book Incursion thin lines between love and war and my coaching services.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Yes! I have always been a risk taker in life before it humbled my drive. I always made it my mission to be the best that I can be when I did not suffer with trying to change myself to fit in other the rest. I recently moved to Atlanta to start over after I took a huge leap of faith by going to a job in Kansas City working 12 hours a day 7 days a week to save up enough to move on my own. I figured out that you can not live the true life you desire to live without taking risks. It gives you the courage to do and believe in yourself more when you realize that the barrier you had up was blocking your growth.
