Today we’d like to introduce you to John Rocker.
Hi John, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Two years ago, I got heavy into listening to podcasts. I would watch the greats like Jalen and Jacoby and 85 South Show. Then I thought to myself that I could do this and I decided to pick up a microphone and didn’t look back. From then to now, it grew to a podcast many people know and love as home for laughs, entertainment, artist, and entrepreneurs.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In this podcast business, as simple as it may seem, I ran into many struggles starting out. From learning the business to the equipment, it was a learning process. I even had to learn how to manage egos and people. Throughout all of those struggles, all of the knowledge I gained has benefited me in all aspects of my career.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Off the Rock is a Podcast collective based out of Mobile, AL. We tackle a variety of topics ranging from sports to entertainment, and current events. Mobile is on the rise, and Off the Rock seeks to be at the center of the change. Community is paramount to growth. We often feature local artists here in the Gulf Coast, as well as work with Jaguar Productions at the University of South Alabama. On Off the Rock, we seek to be transparent and relatable to our community. We offer media coverage for Events, concerts, and etc. Even though we create media for our brand, we additionally create content for businesses for effective marketing strategies as well.
