Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My passion for Treasured Brides was born from my own experience planning a wedding in 2017–2018. At that time, I struggled to find an affordable wedding dress, and even more so, a bridal store that offered size-inclusive options. I remember feeling overlooked and missing out on the “Cinderella moment” that so many brides dream of. This experience inspired me to create a business where every bride, regardless of size or budget, feels valued and truly “treasured.”
I began by selling bridal accessories on Etsy due to limited funding for a storefront. Within a year, I secured a lease at Painted Tree, establishing a physical presence and expanding our offerings. By 2023, Treasured Brides had grown enough in revenue and sales to become an approved retailer with major designers, solidifying our reputation as a trusted, high-quality brand in the bridal industry.
Today, Treasured Brides continues to fulfill its mission: providing accessible, size-inclusive, designer-quality gowns and creating an unforgettable experience for every bride, making the dream of walking down the aisle in her perfect dress a reality.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest challenges we have faced is marketing. As a newer, independently owned bridal business, it is extremely difficult to compete for visibility in a market dominated by well-established retailers with significantly larger advertising budgets. While we have developed a strong business model and consistently provide high-quality gowns and personalized service, limited marketing resources make it challenging to reach future brides and build brand awareness. Without sustained funding for advertising, promotions, and outreach, many potential customers simply are not aware of our services or the unique value we offer to the bridal community.

Treasured Brides is an elegant bridal boutique, offering a fresh and elevated experience for brides-to-be. What truly sets us apart is our signature Pop-Up Shops, designed to deliver luxury and style while honoring each bride’s budget. Our curated collection features designers such as Madi Lane, Enzoani, Beautiful, Blue, Modeca, Evie Young, Badgley Mischka and more, with gowns priced between $399 and $699. In addition to our stunning bridal gowns, we offer a beautiful selection of bridal jewelry, veils, capes, headpieces, and accessories—all at exceptionally affordable prices.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
In October, we hosted our first Wedding Expo, which drew a strong turnout and demonstrated both community interest and need. The event brought together brides and a curated group of wedding vendors, providing a streamlined experience where brides could secure their gown and book essential services in one day. Due to the success of this inaugural event, we are planning to expand this model to additional cities and states.
Our mission is to increase accessibility, representation, and affordability within the wedding industry. As a Black-owned bridal business, we recognize the disparities that exist in wedding planning experiences, particularly for brides who seek quality, inclusivity, and fair pricing. The Wedding Expo model serves as a bridge: it creates a welcoming space where brides can connect with trusted vendors, find their dream gown, and feel supported throughout the planning process.
This initiative also uplifts small and minority-owned wedding professionals by providing a platform for visibility, collaboration, and economic growth. By expanding our expos, we aim to support both brides and local wedding businesses in building stronger and more equitable networks.
