Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Bailey.
Hi Kayla, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Since I was younger, I have always been fascinated with any services or products that made me feel beautiful. Once I got to college, I tried lash extensions for the first time and was immediately addicted. I loved lash extensions so much, I decided to get certified in a lash extensions. My sophomore year of college, I invested in a lash training course and began doing lashes for free in my college dorm. I decided to take my lash business more serious once I noticed my skills improving, more college students booking with me, and all the time I was investing. During quarantine, I went through another lash training, in which I learned hybrid and volume lashes. I finally gave my business a name and started my own business account on Instagram in order to reach a broader audience than just my fellow college peers. I registered my business as an LLC when I knew that I wanted to be my own boss and transform my once hobby into a successful business brand.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been easy, but it has been worth it. My biggest struggle was letting the lack of support and knowledge in regards to the business side affected my motivation. There are times when I get so much support and a boost of confidence would submerge every time I thought about my business. However, those weeks where I was not getting a lot of appointments or reposts of my business, I couldn’t help but to be discouraged. So overcoming that need support key for me. It motivates me even more now to broadcast my business and let my work speak for itself. And learning the business aspect has been a tedious process as well. I started off with lashes as a hobby, so I didn’t know the first thing on how to transform it into a business. All I knew at that time was that I needed a business account on Instagram.
We’ve been impressed with BaiBlinkss, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business BaiBlinkss is based in Atlanta. I am a lash technician licensed to do classic, hybrid, and volume lash extensions. Most of my clients book my hybrid set because it gives a full and fluffy look. What sets me apart from other lash technicians, I am not driven by money to do lash extensions. I love lashes and I am always trying to perfect my craft. I was certified 3 times in lash extensions. I also pride myself in delivering exceptional customer service from the time they book their appointment to after they leave their appointment. I offer classic, hybrid, volume, and mega volume extensions. I also offer fill-ins, lash removal services and lash bath services.
What makes you happy?
As cliche as it may sound, but making others happy makes me happy. It is a rewarding feeling to be the reason someone is happy because of the love and energy I bring. I’ve always been a people pleaser and giver whenever I can. I notice in my daily life I perform many services that would provoke happiness within someone, such as giving back, complimenting someone, doing something kind for someone or even doing a bomb lash set on a client. These services that I do makes others smile and me smile.
