Today we’d like to introduce you to Kesha Kennedy
Hi Kesha, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
First, I am a proud wife of 25 years to Torrey Kennedy and am blessed with two adult children, Joshua and Maya.
I began my journey into real estate about 19 years ago. My husband and I were buying our first house, and during and after the process, I realized that there was so much information that we were not educated on by our agent at the time. That made me think that I wanted to know more about the process, and that I would not want anyone else to experience the lack of knowledge that we did. So, I went to real estate school. While I was what was considered a “part-time” agent because I had a full-time job as a legal assistant, I sold mainly to family and friends. However, as business picked up and I was no longer able to do both, I eventually shifted (not by choice) to a full-time agent. When I say not by choice, that means that I was fired from my job. Honestly, it was the best thing that happened to me, because God had told me to move a year before that, but I didn’t. From there, I have never looked back. I joined a brokerage that gave me the training and experience that I needed and desired, and opened my mind up to know that I could actually open up my very own brokerage, Legacy South Real Estate Group, and mentor and help other agents be successful in real estate. I am happy to say that my husband and I will celebrate the 3rd anniversary of Legacy South Real Estate Group on December 1st.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Of course, because real estate requires your reliance on other outside factors (i.e. interest rates, buyer education and approval, inventory ups and downs, etc.), the road has not been smooth. However, we have been able to sustain by understanding when and how to pivot, strategize, and implement new ways of doing business. I also have a strong referral based that continues to bring in business and clients.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Legacy South Real Estate Group?
