Inspiring Conversations with Kevin Windom of OBGYN Associates of MARIETTA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Windom.

Kevin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m double board certified in both OB/GYN and Urogynecology and reconstructive surgery. I started refinind women’s wellness as an adjunct to my UROGYNECOLOGY business and in essence we use a pelvic floor platform by INMODE that helps with vaginal rejuvenation, vaginal tightening, labioplasty, pelvic floor therapy, electrical muscle stimulation of the pelvic floor And many other aspects of women’s health. These are all non-surgical ways to treat pelvic floor issues as well as urinary incontinence. we were the first people in Georgia to have Inmodes newest product called empowerRF, which is a pelvic floor platform and it was created by ywo Urogynecologists that I know well When they sent us that machine, they also had body tightening, micro, needling with radio frequency, and then facial tightening needling with radio frequency because of some of my female partners thought this would be a good idea for us to do some types of aesthetics then we started doing Botox fillers, laser, hair removal Then we hired Aesthetitian to do all types of facials than we bought a helix machine to do all types of laser facials as well as laser resurfacing and because we’re wellness, we started weight loss but our weight loss is more medical weight loss. We do use GLP ones, but we also have partner with a group of dietitians as well as Personal trainers last year. We started doing Bioidentica hormones replacement therapy for peri menopause and menopause patients and we do anywhere from creams to pellets to gels and we’re about to start our newest voyage on regenerative medicine with different types of peptides and female, intimacy and sexual dysfunction issues. What makes us unique is that our businesses run by me and my partner Dr. Natalie Needham both board certified ObGyn And then the entire pelvic floor therapy is run by me OBGYN and UROGYN and we don’t consider ourselves as a med spa. instead we are a wellness practice.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been an easy start. We’re now two years into the business and we’ve gone through some major changes my partner who was running this business initially moved to Montana, which legt me running this business. I run OBGYN ASSOCIATES of Marietta which has 60 employees so this was difficult TO Run both as well as this I know pelvic floor therapy and I know gynecology , but I don’t really know any of the aesthetics issues. I know hormones but I didn’t really know weight loss, but I’ve become a quick study in between the people we surround ourselves with as well as my partner, Dr. Needham we’re doing well now we’ve had some Employee changes mainly because some of our advanced practice nurses were more focused on transactions than they were on true health and wellness

As you know, we’re big fans of I’ve been with OBGYN Associates of MARIETTA for 27 years and have been running refined wellness for two years. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Our business is unique in the fact that it’s run by two board certified OBGYYN and then I also have expertise and I’m boARD certified in urogynecology and reconstructive surgery because Dr. Needham and I have a thriving OBGYN business. There is no need to start this business and tarnish our reputation And for that reason we want to focus on wellness and give care to women that’s not normally given to them through a traditional ONGYN practice, we are able to fill in the gaps of all the health needs for women that go beyond a typical OBGYN

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
My mission throughout my career has been compassionate care in all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology. I believe educating the patient and providing world class services is what women need because some women only see an OB/GYN for every year visit. I believe we should be doing more than just OB and gynecology, we should be focusing on health and wellness – refined Women’s wellness fills in the gaps
