Inspiring Conversations with Kimberly Abrams of The Kim Abrams Show

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Abrams.

Hi Kimberly, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey hasn’t been a straight line. I started out as a Criminal Justice professor, and I really loved mentoring students and being part of conversations that helped people think differently about their lives and their choices. Teaching showed me how powerful mindset, faith, and encouragement can be when someone is trying to grow.

At the same time, life was shaping me personally. I’m a mother of four, and motherhood has completely changed how I see purpose. One of the biggest turning points for me came when my son started struggling with eczema. We tried everything, and nothing seemed to help. Watching him feel uncomfortable and self-conscious pushed me to start creating natural skincare products at home, just trying to help my child. That season eventually led to the creation of Simply Skintastic.

As I was building that brand, I realized there was a bigger thread running through everything I was doing. Whether I was teaching, creating products, or mentoring others, my heart was always in helping people heal, grow, and believe in themselves. That’s what led me to create The Kim Abrams Show, a faith-based platform where I have honest conversations about life, mindset, and purpose, and remind people that they’re not alone in their journey.

Today, I’m building brands and platforms rooted in faith, real life, and service. I don’t believe in having it all figured out. I believe in progress, obedience, and showing up even when the path isn’t clear. My story is still unfolding, but everything I do is centered on helping others move forward with confidence and hope.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. A lot of my journey has been shaped by uncertainty, transitions, and learning how to keep going even when things didn’t make sense. I’ve navigated career shifts, personal challenges, and the emotional weight that comes with trying to balance purpose, family, and responsibility all at the same time.

Building businesses without outside funding has been a challenge, especially while being a mother of four. There were seasons where I had the vision, but not the resources or the clarity, and I had to learn how to move forward in small, faithful steps instead of waiting for the “perfect” moment. Losing stability in areas I once felt confident in forced me to redefine success and trust the process more deeply.

I’ve also had to unlearn perfectionism and the pressure to have everything figured out. Some of the hardest moments weren’t external at all—they were internal, like learning to quiet fear, comparison, and self-doubt. But those struggles shaped me. They made me more grounded, more empathetic, and more intentional about why I do what I do.

Looking back, the challenges didn’t stop me, they refined me. They taught me resilience, faith, and the importance of staying aligned with purpose, even when the road feels uncomfortable or unclear.

As you know, we’re big fans of The Kim Abrams Show. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My work spans a few different areas, but everything I build is rooted in faith, healing, and real-life experience. I’m the creator of The Kim Abrams Show, a faith-based talk show and platform where I have honest conversations about mindset, personal growth, purpose, and navigating life’s challenges. The show is centered on helping people heal, grow, and feel encouraged, especially during seasons when life feels heavy or uncertain.

I’m also the founder of Simply Skintastic, a natural skincare brand created out of my own experience as a mother. When my son struggled with eczema and sensitive skin, I couldn’t find products that truly worked for him, so I started formulating my own. What sets Simply Skintastic apart is that it’s not trend-driven or mass-produced, it’s intentional, gentle, and created with real people and real skin concerns in mind. The brand is rooted in confidence, care, and helping people feel comfortable in their own skin.

What really connects everything I do is the heart behind it. I don’t build brands just to sell something. I build them to serve. Whether it’s through skincare, conversations, or community initiatives, my focus is always on meeting people where they are and reminding them that growth doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of staying authentic. I haven’t tried to fit into a mold or chase what’s popular. I’ve allowed my brands to grow out of real needs, real stories, and faith-led decisions. I want readers to know that everything I offer comes from lived experience, intention, and a genuine desire to help people move forward with confidence and hope.

How do you think about luck?
I don’t really believe in luck. I believe in God’s timing, His covering, and His direction. There were moments in my life and business that felt like setbacks or disappointments, but looking back, I can see God’s hand in every detour. What I once thought were closed doors were often God protecting me or redirecting me toward something better aligned with His purpose for my life.

There have also been moments of favor, opportunities that came at just the right time, but even those required obedience, trust, and preparation. I’ve learned that faith doesn’t mean having everything figured out; it means taking steps even when the path isn’t clear and trusting that God will order those steps.

Some of my hardest seasons strengthened my faith the most. They taught me patience, humility, and dependence on God rather than my own plans. I don’t see my journey as lucky or unlucky, I see it as God-led. Every challenge, delay, and blessing played a role in shaping the work I do today and the way I serve others.
