Today we’d like to introduce you to Landon McCollough.
Hi Landon, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started off as a guest advocate about 6 years ago, kept working through highschool and when I graduated I became full time, kept working doing different things for Big Peach like a floating manager and helping with hiring a little, until eventually I became an assistant manager of our Brookhaven location and now am the General manager of Big Peach Ride + Run Brookhaven and Big Peach On Wheels.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not, it was really hard at first going from a friend and a co worker to their boss, slowly the staff transitioned and it became easier but it’s still hard because of my age and wanting to be their friend but knowing I can’t because it makes work more challenging.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are most known for our fit process and getting our community in the right gear and getting them moving. We are set apart because of how we treat each interaction with anyone who walks through our doors. We want people to come in and be happy to be here all the time but some people come in a little shy and not knowing what they’re getting into, and to see those same people leaving with a huge smile on their face like we just made their day is the exact reason we do it everyday. What sets us apart is how we sell, we won’t push any products onto you, we just want you to try things and experience what different things are like. We offer pretty much anything popular, our big ones are Hoka, Nike, Brooks, New Balance, Asics. We also have a full bike service shop and sell bikes as well, such a Giant and Specialized.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Favorite thing about Brookhaven/Buckhead is how the city cares about the people and truly do want to make things better for the community, like more sidewalks and walking and biking paths.
There’s not really anything I don’t like about this city, maybe the traffic sometimes?
