Inspiring Conversations with Lorien Talmadge of Rebel Sol

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorien Talmadge.

Lorien Talmadge

Lorien, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born and raised in New Jersey, built my early career in New York, and relocated to Georgia in 2007 to build something more soulful and sustainable.

My career began in music — I loved touring and working in creative spaces with incredible artists. I’ve always been deeply creative, but also surprisingly techy. I remember learning to code in high school just so I could do my math homework (math and I weren’t friends — but code? That I could do 😅).

Eventually, that blend of creativity and logic led me into tech and design. I had the chance to work on incredible global projects, learning human-centered design and design thinking — and that became my favorite space to play in. It taught me how to build better technology by keeping humans at the core. That mindset opened doors: travel, collaboration, solo travel, wanderlust that’s led me on adventures around the world, and a network of brilliant friends, creatives and technologists I still cherish.

At the midpoint of my career, I went all in — pursued my MBA, stacked a few more degrees (because why not?), danced semi-professionally, and built a beautiful life and family in Georgia. I felt like I was living the dream — until my body told me otherwise.

Despite looking successful on the outside, I was battling deep fatigue and chronic symptoms that couldn’t be explained. Test results came back “normal,” but I felt far from it. Eventually, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, and it was a wake-up call: I was in burnout.

That moment changed everything.

Initially, I thought I was to blame for doing “too much”, but then I realized my ambition wasn’t the problem — it was my approach. As part of my healing journey I redesigned everything. I became a master yoga instructor, started doing deep emotional work to understand and shift my patterns that led to overwhelm, learned nervous system regulation to reduce the impacts of stress of my body and mind, and began to rebuild from the inside out. I became so passionate about understanding how I ended up in burnout but also my healing, I even became a Board Certified Holistic Health Coach. That’s what brought me here. Now, my work is to help other high achievers do the same — reimagine success hat doesn’t cost their wellbeing and also supports the soul.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
LOL. Let’s just say this path has definitely hit me with more than a few plot twists. 😅

The first and biggest was my health — getting diagnosed with an autoimmune condition in the middle of what looked like a picture-perfect season of life. I was doing everything — career, school, family, creativity — but my body was crashing. As I mentioned, that was a huge turning point.

The second turning point came in 2020, during the pandemic. I left a high-stress workplace that was draining me on every level and finally paused to prioritize my wellbeing and rethink my life. I could feel burnout creeping in again — because even when you know the signs, it can still sneak up on you. This time, though, I knew I had to go deeper.

I had done the inner work. I understood mindfulness, nervous system regulation, and self-care practices. But I was trying to use those tools inside an external system that was still keeping me stressed and misaligned. So I made the decision to step away and really explore what I wanted — what felt true, sustainable, and aligned — and to begin creating a life that reflected that, not one built on expectations or outside influence.

That exploration became the foundation for a movement around radical self-care. I realized that so many high-achieving women, just like me, were quietly struggling — burning out, pushing through, and living disconnected from themselves. I kept thinking: maybe what we need isn’t more discipline or hustle, but permission. Permission to prioritize our wellbeing without guilt. Permission to believe that caring for ourselves isn’t selfish — it’s essential.

What I discovered was that self-care wasn’t a luxury or a reward. It was a superpower. When I started operating from a full cup, everything I was being called to do became clearer, more impactful, and more sustainable. Around that same time, conversations about radical rest were becoming more visible — and while rest absolutely matters, I saw that the issue ran deeper. This wasn’t just about slowing down. It was about a mindset shift. An identity shift. A new definition of success for me.

And it wasn’t easy at all. There were moments of real grief — grieving the version of myself who believed she had to do it all, be a certain way, be everything to everyone, and never stop. But through that process, I began releasing old patterns and rebuilding from a place of clarity and power. I’m grateful for every detour. Each one sharpened the vision and led me exactly where I am now.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Rebel Sol is a soul-led company rooted in one simple belief: success should feel as good as it looks. I’m so excited about it what it’s evolved and continues to grow into.

I created Rebel Sol to support high-achieving women — entrepreneurs, executives, and leaders — who are doing meaningful work in the world and being all the things to everyone — but quietly running on empty. Women who are accomplished, capable, and deeply committed, yet feel something is off. My work helps them slow down enough to reset what’s no longer working — internally and externally — so they can move forward with clarity, alignment, and sustainable radical self-love.

At the center of Rebel Sol is my signature body of work, The Radical Reset. It’s not a program — it’s a way of approaching life, leadership, and success. The Radical Reset weaves together inner work, nervous system regulation, and AI-supported systems, because burnout isn’t just about being tired. It’s about misalignment. And you can’t heal misalignment with surface-level fixes.

This work asks deeper questions: Who are you becoming? What kind of life are you actually building? And do your systems — personal and professional — support that vision?

One extension of this philosophy is my book, The Thrive Journal: From Burnout to Balance through Radical Self-Care. It’s a guided journal designed to help people reconnect with themselves, create space for reflection, and build a relationship with self-care that’s intentional and accessible. It’s often where people begin their journey with Rebel Sol.

Beyond individual work, Rebel Sol comes alive through experiences. I lead workshops, speak at conferences, corporate events, and masterminds, and facilitate both domestic and international retreats designed to bring The Radical Reset into real life. Through partnerships — including international retreats with Omnoire — these artfully curated experiences create space for nervous system healing, sisterhood, honest conversation, clarity, and rest that actually restores. They’re beautiful, luxury, soul-filling adventures that are designed to help us pause, reflect, realign and reset – and they’re in some amazing locations too!

In 2026, I’ll also be returning more intentionally to group work with The Radical Reset experience launching in February, along with a series of free virtual experiences in December 2025 and January 2026, designed to make this work more accessible and to invite community into the conversation. One experience I’m especially excited about is Sips & Scripts, a weekend retreat happening February 27–March 1, 2026 in Dahlonega, Georgia, created in partnership with Dahna Batts of DB Wellness. It’s a space centered on wine, sisterhood, and learning AI in a way that feels welcoming, grounded, and empowering — not intimidating.

I’m also deeply passionate about STEAM access and equity, particularly for girls and women. I care deeply about making the path easier and more supported for the next generation than it was for me.

What I’m most proud of is that Rebel Sol isn’t just a brand — it’s a community and a movement. We’re redefining what success looks like when it’s rooted in alignment, wellbeing, and purpose. Because real success isn’t just about what you build — it’s about how you feel while you’re building it.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Honestly, we’re standing at the edge of a major shift.

People are no longer impressed by grind culture. We’re waking up. Over the next five to ten years, I believe we’ll see a real move toward integrated wellbeing — where radical leadership, business, and personal development are no longer treated as separate lanes, but as parts of the same whole.

I think the lines between technology and wellness will continue to blur. AI is becoming more accessible and more intuitive, and when it’s used thoughtfully and ethically, it has the potential to support a more nervous system–friendly way of working — one that creates space instead of pressure.

But the technology itself isn’t the answer. The real shift will come from who’s using it and how. We need more human-first, soul-led leaders guiding these tools with intention, care, and discernment.

That’s what excites me most about this moment. I get to stand at the intersection of tech and wellbeing, helping people not just keep up with the future, but shape it — in a way that allows them to thrive, not burn out.
