Today we’d like to introduce you to Marquia Watts.
Hi Marquia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
From Grief to Greatness: How Marquia Watts Turned Pain into Power and Built a Real Estate Empire with Purpose
In the polished world of real estate and entrepreneurship, where headshots and highlight reels often take center stage, Marquia Watts brings something deeper — soul.
She’s not just a real estate powerhouse and business coach. She’s a spiritual strategist, a faith-fueled leader, and the visionary behind the Boss Women Community — a movement that’s redefining what success looks like for modern women who want both ambition and alignment.
But her journey didn’t begin in boardrooms or luxury closings. It began in heartbreak. Shortly after graduating college, Marquia stood beside her mother as she took her final breath following a fierce battle with breast cancer — a moment that changed everything.
“My mom was my anchor,” she says. “Losing her that way gave me a different kind of strength, one that’s not just about survival, but legacy.”
That legacy lives on through her work and her heart. In honor of her mother, Marquia started a foundation that provides wigs to women undergoing chemotherapy, helping breast cancer warriors reclaim a piece of their identity and confidence during one of life’s hardest seasons.
Despite her grief, Marquia forged ahead. She began her career leasing apartments, worked her way up to managing apartments in Alpharetta, GA, and bought her first home at just 24. But a few years later, after courageously leaving her full-time job with savings and a clear vision to pursue real estate full time, a $150K investment property disaster would become her greatest teacher. A contractor’s betrayal left the project in ruins — turning what seemed like a promising next step into a crash course in resilience, all while she was planning her wedding.
Her secret? Fasting. Prayer. Non-negotiable devotion. She calls it “Godfidence” — the unshakable belief that purpose is more profitable than pressure.
That belief carried her to an unexpected breakthrough. What started as a quiet leap of faith turned into 29 transactions in a single year, and an invitation to leadership. Now, at just 33 years old, Marquia is one of the youngest business coaches at Keller Williams, serves on the Agent Leadership Council (ALC) at the Keller Williams Roswell office, and coaches over 25 agents while helping them build both business and belief.
She also helped launch TCS Property Management in Atlanta, GA, a company dedicated to supporting real estate investors by placing qualified tenants in their largest assets, helping grow the rental market with care, strategy, and professionalism.
But Marquia didn’t stop there. She continued building Boss Women Community, where faith and financial literacy go hand in hand. Her mission? To equip women, especially Black women with the tools and confidence to lead, invest, and build lasting legacies.
Her playbook is rooted in alignment over hustle, systems over stress, and purpose over pressure.
“Representation isn’t a buzzword for me,” she says. “It’s responsibility.”
In a world obsessed with the hustle, Marquia Watts offers something far more radical: alignment, authenticity, and a blueprint for success that starts with the soul.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Shortly after college, I lost my mother to breast cancer and was there to witness her final breath. That pain pushed me into purpose. I later launched a Wig Foundation in her honor that provides wigs to women undergoing chemotherapy.
Professionally, I faced a huge setback after losing $130K on an investment property due to a contractor’s betrayal — all while planning a wedding and having just left my full-time job. That moment forced me to rely on faith, fast, and rebuild everything from the ground up.
Being a young Black woman in real estate, I’ve also had to push through doubt and break through ceilings. Today, I sit on the Agent Leadership Council (ALC), serve as one of Keller Williams’ youngest business coaches, and helped start TCS Property Management in Atlanta, helping investors protect their assets with qualified tenants.
The road hasn’t been easy — but every challenge helped shape the leader I am today.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My business is built on a unique blend of real estate expertise, faith-driven leadership, and community empowerment. I’m a full-time REALTOR®, business coach, and lead representative of TCS Property Management in Atlanta, where we specialize in helping real estate investors protect their biggest assets by placing qualified, dependable tenants.
Through my coaching role at Keller Williams Roswell, I support over 25 agents—many of whom are dual-career professionals—helping them create systems, stay accountable, and scale with intention. I also proudly serve on the Agent Leadership Council (ALC), a high-level position that allows me to influence the growth and culture of our office.
But what truly sets my brand apart is that everything I do is rooted in purpose and alignment. After losing my mother to breast cancer, I made it my mission to live with intention and serve others with both heart and strategy. I even started a foundation in her honor that provides wigs for women undergoing chemotherapy, because beauty and confidence should never be compromised by illness.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the Boss Women Community — a movement that fuses faith and financial literacy to help women build legacy-driven lives. Whether it’s helping a first-time homebuyer, guiding an investor, or mentoring a new agent, my approach is the same: serve with integrity, educate through experience, and build relationships that last long after the closing table.
I want readers to know that when they work with me or my team, they’re not just getting a transaction — they’re getting a partner, a coach, and a support system. I’ve lived the ups and downs of this industry, and I’m passionate about helping others succeed with clarity, confidence, and community.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Over the next 5-10 years, I see the real estate industry continuing to evolve with a strong emphasis on technology integration, data-driven decision-making, and client-centric service models. As the industry grows, agents will need to leverage advanced digital tools—like AI and predictive analytics—to stay competitive, whether in market analysis, client relationships, or transaction management.
One major shift I anticipate is the increasing demand for sustainability and eco-conscious developments, especially as buyers and investors become more environmentally aware. This will require real estate professionals to build knowledge around green building certifications, energy-efficient solutions, and eco-friendly property management.
Additionally, as more people work remotely, flexible and hybrid spaces will become a key trend. The demand for homes with dedicated workspaces, as well as multifamily units with shared office amenities, will rise. Real estate agents and property managers will need to be adaptable, offering tailored solutions for this new lifestyle.
On the skill-based side, success will depend on adaptability, technological proficiency, and emotional intelligence. Building meaningful relationships with clients and truly understanding their evolving needs will be essential. As the market becomes more competitive, real estate professionals who can balance cutting-edge tech with a human touch—offering education, advice, and empathy—will stand out.
Ultimately, the future of the industry will require agents to be lifelong learners who can pivot quickly and strategically while staying grounded in relationship-based practices and purpose-driven leadership.
